Cybill Shepherd made a rare appearance in Los Angeles on Wednesday when she ventured out with her assistant.

The former Moonlighting star, 74, shielded her eyes behind sunglasses as she ran errands near her Southern California home.

Looking relaxed in a loose-fitting shirt and jeans, Shepherd browsed a local store in her latest low-key appearance.

The legendary actress’ most recent role was as author Nancy Crampton-Brophy in the 2023 TV movie How to Murder Your Husband, written and directed by Stephen Tolkin.

Shepherd co-stars in the production included Steve Guttenberg, Sandy Minh Abley and Primo Allon.

The Memphis-born star became a household name after starring in the hit series Moonlighting opposite Bruce Willis, with the pair playing respective characters Maddie Hayes and David Addison in the dramatic comedy.

Shepherd was praised for her work on the TV series, which ran from 1985-1989 on ABC, with two Golden Globe wins in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Comedy or Musical in 1986 and 1987, and also received a nomination in 1988.

She was also nominated for an Emmy for her work on the show in 1988.

She would receive three more Emmy nominations from 1995 to 1997 for her work on the CBS series Cybill, which also earned her a Golden Globe in 1996 and a nomination the following year.

Former co-star Willis, 69, has made headlines for the past two years amid his battle with frontotemporal dementia, as his family jointly announced in March 2022 that he would be taking a step back from his acting career due to his health issues.

Willis’ daughter Rumer Willis, 35, said on the TODAY show that her father is doing “so well” because he is surrounded and supported by family amid the tough times.

“Our vulnerability and transparency as a family about what he’s putting me through is so important,” Rumer said, “because if it can have any impact on another family that’s struggling with something like this in some way, or bring more attention to the disease in the hope of finding a cure or something that can help someone else, I think that is very important.’

After Willis’ diagnosis was made public, Shepherd had kind words to say about her one-time costar when she appeared at a Race to Erase MS benefit gala in Los Angeles in May 2022.

“I will always love Bruce,” Shepherd told Extra.

She noted how the charismatic star won the role in the TV series, which paved the way for his breakthrough films with hits like the Die Hard series, Pulp Fiction and The Sixth Sense.

“I just have to say one thing about Bruce: No one else was ever considered for the role when he walked into the room,” Shepherd said.

Shepherd talked about the chemistry they shared that resonated with viewers.

“My temperature went up 10 degrees,” Shepherd said. “That meant two things to me: one, I was very attracted to him, two, I would never do anything about it because we were both very attracted to each other.”
