Cybertruck bomber’s haunting texts to his ex-girlfriend just days before blowing up Trump hotel as she breaks her silence: ‘I feel like Batman’
The Colorado man who blew himself up outside the Trump International Hotel bragged ex-girlfriend that his ‘wicked’ fast Tesla Cybertruck made him feel ‘like Batman.’
Matthew Livelsberger, 37, texted his old flame just days before he shot himself in the head in a hulking Tesla that burst into flames just outside the Las Vegas hotel on New Year’s Day.
As detectives investigate possible motives, it has emerged that Livelsberger had broken up with his wife and hooked up with an ex-girlfriend before setting himself on fire.
Livelsberger’s second wife, Jennifer Davis, had left him just six days before the incident because she suspected he was cheating on her.
Now his ex-girlfriend has shared screenshots of their conversation, showing he was “like a kid with a new toy” after picking up the Cybertruck used in the explosion.
‘I rented a Tesla Cybertruck. It’s the shit,” he texted Alicia Arritt at 9 a.m. Sunday, she told the newspaper Denver Gazette.
“I feel like Batman or Halo,” he added seven minutes later.
The couple dated from 2018 to 2021, between Livelsberger’s first and second marriages.
Arritt found it strange that Livelsberg had reached out at all, given the split. Still, she responded to his message as if she were an old friend.

“How fast is it?” she wrote.
“Wicked,” he replied.
Livelsberger went on to tell Arritt that he is now “building drones” in his new role, adding, “You’d love it.”
Arritt said she struggles to understand the days after their exchange, describing her ex as a conservative patriot who loved his country.
“I just want everyone to know that Matt was the nicest man I have ever known,” Arritt told the publication.
FBI agents tracked down Arritt after reading text messages between the couple and told her he had contacted other ex-girlfriends in the days before his death.
His decision to contact past flames coincided with his divorce from his second wife, Davis.
The duo share a young child.

Davis, who lived with Livelsburger in Colorado Springs, told him she knew he was cheating just six days before he set himself on fire and shot himself in Las Vegas. New York Post.
Livelsberger’s relationship problems date back to his first marriage to Sara Liveslberger.
A friend of Sara’s, Stacie Wilssens, said the special forces soldier was “bizarre and unhealthy.”
She said he and Sara were “opposites,” as the woman supported Bernie Sanders while Livelsburger backed Donald Trump.
“Nothing ever felt stable or stable between the two of them. She tried to get healthy, and he mocked her. He attacked her,” said Wilssens, who had not spoken to Livelsberger in years.
The Denver Gazette reported that she began divorce proceedings in 2017 and that they became final a year later. Sara reportedly left Colorado and remarried.
Police initially investigated whether Livelsberger’s death was a politically motivated stunt, given his choice of an Elon Musk-built truck and the location of the Trump hotel.
But as more information about his deteriorating personal life comes to light, the water is muddied on any possible motivating factor.

MAGA supporters are now wondering if Livelsberger has been “framed,” given his apparent devotion to Trump and his country.
Trump ally, former Congressman Matt Gaetz, went so far as to describe Livelsberger as a “Chad” — a colloquial social media term for an alpha male.
“The Vegas guy looks like a real CHAD??,” Gaetz wrote. ‘So bizarre.’

During his 19-year military career, Livelsberger served in several critical positions that gave him access to sensitive intelligence and data.
In November 2024, he accepted a role as a remote and autonomous systems administrator while stationed at Camp Panzer Kaserne, just southwest of Stuttgart, Germany.
In that role, he helped integrate drones into the military and ensured they were operated and maintained at an adequate level.
But before that, he spent seven years involved in intelligence and operations for the special forces.

Davis, who lived with Livelsburger in Colorado Springs, told him she knew he was cheating just six days before he set himself on fire and shot himself in Las Vegas and shortly after they had a baby together.
As part of this role, he conducted vulnerability assessments, cultural studies and technical data analysis.
Livelsberger had a break in his service, which allowed him to return to the US to carry out the plot.
He rented the Cybertruck in Colorado Springs and drove it across the border into Nevada on Wednesday morning to carry out his attack.
During a news conference, Sheriff Kevin McMahill said the car arrived in Las Vegas at 7:30 a.m. The explosion happened at 8.40am in the valet outside the hotel.
At the scene of the explosion, charred fireworks, gas canisters and camping fuel were found in the bed of the truck when authorities were finally able to extinguish the fire.
Police found credit cards, his passport and military identification card on him. The weapons found in the truck were legally purchased on December 30, 2024.
Livelsberger was the only fatality in the attack, and authorities largely believe Musk’s massive stainless steel truck prevented further damage because it contained much of the explosion.
Despite the violence of the blast, none of the hotel’s nearby windows were damaged.

Jennifer Davis, the second wife of Tesla Cybertruck bomber Matthew Livelsberger, reportedly left him just days before the incident because she believed he cheated on her shortly after they had a daughter.
Law enforcement sources also revealed that Livelsberger previously served at the same military base as New Orleans terrorist Shamsud Din Jabbar, who drove a rented truck into a crowd of New Year’s revelers on Wednesday, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens.
In addition, both also served in Afghanistan in 2009, but officials say they have seen no evidence they were in the same facility or unit. That is still being investigated.
Hours before Livelsberger’s explosion, Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, drove an electric vehicle into the crowd in New Orleans.
The timing immediately raised fears of a coordinated terror attack as the United States was still reeling from the violence on the streets of New Orleans.
The Texas-born terrorist had an ISIS flag draped on the back of the vehicle as he drove into the crowd.
