Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.1 adds a functional metro system to travel around Night City in a new way

Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a brand new update next Tuesday, December 5 – version 2.1 – and finally allow players to travel around Night City on a relaxing subway ride.

Announced today (December 1) during a live stream on CD Projekt Red's Twitch channel, it was confirmed that once players pass through the Konpeki Plaza section of the game, they can go to any of the game's 19 subway stations and travel to their destination by actually visiting the city's subway stops grab and use. trains. There are five subway lines that players must navigate carefully if they want to reach their destination without fast travel. That includes switching lines where necessary, so referring to the metro map is a must.

The new system is completely optional: players can still easily travel between metro stations if they want to quickly get to their next location. If you start a manual journey but then decide you've had enough, you can also skip it halfway through.

The same stream also confirmed that players will be able to listen starting with update 2.1 Cyberpunk 2077's in-game radio while you're on the go. That includes traveling on the subway and on foot in Night City. However, you won't be able to listen to it during important conversations or quests that require you to listen to dialogue, so keep that in mind.

There's no doubt that the new subway functionality will be a hit with fans as it has been in high demand ever since Cyberpunk 2077's release. In fact, it was previously added to the game in an unofficial capacity by dedicated modders.

December 5 also marks the release date of Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on PC, PlayStation 5, And Xbox Series|S. This version of the game bundles the base game and its Phantom freedom DLC expansion in one package, making it a great way to experience everything to the fullest Cyberpunk 2077 story if you've never tried it before.
