Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 2.02 is officially live on PC and consoles and aims to fix a number of bugs while adding even more performance improvements.
The latest patch to be released is quite large and appears to include several tweaks and fixes across the board, including for quests, as well as some improvements for a selection of weapons – such as the Malorian Arms 3516 – following player feedback.
A majority of the patch notes seem to be focused on it too Phantom freedomwith a ton aimed at resolving a series of quest lines, rebalancing vehicle contract time limits, and issues that may appear in the base game after skipping to the expansion.
For example, it is now possible to collect Jackie’s weapons from the altar in El Coyote Cojo during saves where you have the option to continue to Phantom freedom was chosen. Additionally, Sasquatch’s Hammer should now appear in the vendor’s stash on the stadium’s black market if the player misses it after her boss battle.

Phantom freedom-specifically
- Rebalanced the time limits for vehicle contracts.
- Various solutions for animations, lighting, scenes, VFX and more.
- Fixed collision issues in various locations that could cause players to get stuck.
- When you start a new game and continue to Phantom freedomquests that have been simulated as completed will now be visible in the Journal.
- Fixed an issue where the Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante” was not available for purchase on the Autofixer website under certain circumstances.
- Fixed an issue where there were roadblocks in front of the Dogtown gates, preventing access.
- Sasquatch’s Hammer will now appear in the stadium black market vendor’s inventory if it was originally missed after the boss battle with Sasquatch.
- Dex’s body will now spawn in the dump on save files that you can jump to Phantom freedom was chosen.
- It is now possible to collect Jackie’s weapons from the altar in El Coyote Cojo during saves where you have the option to proceed to Phantom freedom was chosen.
- Fixed an issue where a placeholder popup was displayed on Xbox Series X|S instead of an error message about Phantom freedom‘s installation.
- Addicted to chaos – Fixed an issue where if the stash was looted before receiving the message containing the code, it could become impossible to complete the quest.
- Black steel in the hour of chaos – Fixed an issue where, under specific circumstances, the quest could remain active even after failing by not following Songbird’s tracks.
- Fire starter – It will no longer be possible to dismantle the stadium’s security data harden after it has been looted from Hansen’s body, blocking the search’s progress.
- Fire starter – It is now possible to pick up the Bald Eagle weapon after siding with Songbird.
- Performance: Roads to Salvation – Fixed an issue where the door to the Stadium Weapons Factory was accidentally opened earlier in Firestarter, which later disrupted the progress of the action and could trap the player behind the door.
- Hello Ho silver lining – Fixed an issue where the ‘Leave Heavy Hearts’ goal might not be marked as completed after leaving Heavy Hearts.
- I’ve seen that face before – Fixed an issue where the Go to Viewpoint goal might not be marked as completed after reaching the Viewpoint.
- Moving heat – Fixed an issue where it was not possible to get into the car because it was not spawning.
- Moving heat – Fixed an issue where the quest would remain stuck on the ‘Leave by Car’ goal even after getting in the car and leaving the area.
- Running this city – Fixed an issue where the Black Sapphire could become inaccessible due to closed hatches if the player initiated a fight in the lobby at the end of You Know My Name.
- Running this city – Fixed an issue where it was not possible to create Mr. Hands in Heavy Hearts because the elevator was disabled.
- Running this city – Fixed an issue where the character menu and fast travel remained blocked after removing Aguilar’s print.
- Running this city – Fixed an issue where the Journal incorrectly suggested that the player needed to complete Gig: Spy in the Jungle to continue the quest, when in fact Gig: Heaviest of Hearts was required.
- Slightly damaged – Fixed an issue where Cerberus would only spawn in the hallway chase scene if the player fired a weapon at a specific spot near Terminal Sierra.
- Slightly damaged – Removed the attribute check from doors when locked in the Observation Room and adjusted the objective to make it clearer that hiding from Cerberus is necessary to progress.
- Spider and the fly – Fixed an issue where the boss fight with the Chimera might not start.
- The damned – Fixed an issue where the objective would disappear after the encounter in The Moth, blocking progression.
- The Killer Moon – Fixed an issue where it was possible to activate the police system while driving to the spaceport.
- Things done have changed – Fixed an issue where the screen could go black after calling the nurse.
- You never know what will happen tomorrow – Fixed an issue where completing Heroes made it impossible to ask Misty about the tarot cards.
- New person, same old mistakes – Fixed an issue where the door to Bill’s Hot Dog Stand was still closed for some players on January 2.
Quests and open world
- Fixed an issue where the Quadra Type-66 “Wingate” was not visible in the Call Vehicle menu after purchase.
- Johnny will no longer appear if he collects the Trauma Drama reward before completing Act 1.
- The Trauma Team website will now be accessible on V’s computer when the Killing in name search is active.
- Pat the Brat: Arroyo – Fixed an issue where defeating Buck while Microgenerator cyberware was equipped could block quest completion.
- Performance: We have your wife – Fixed an issue where the gig might not start after approaching the search area.
- Life during wartime – Fixed an issue where Panam might not get on the motorcycle and drive to the gas station if V got on theirs first.
- Path of glory – V will no longer flatline after entering the Delamain AV.
- The beast in me – Fixed an issue where it was not possible to shoot from the vehicle during the race.
Gameplay
- Rebalanced the stats of some weapons based on player feedback.
- The Malorian Arms 3516 received an improvement. The recoil is easier to deal with, even at low stamina, and the damage is increased.
- The crafting specs for iconic weapons now disappear after crafting the item.
- Added stats to Monowire’s tooltip that were missing.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to duplicate unwanted items.
- Bullets now correctly deal damage when passing through glass.
- Fixed an issue where it was possible to easily obtain Level 5 Skill Shards early in the game. Their prices have also been adjusted.
- The Bait quickhack is disabled for enemies standing on the edge of an area they are not allowed to leave.
- Fixed an issue where the Data Recycler perk was recovering base RAM costs without considering RAM reduction benefits, resulting in reclaiming more RAM than was actually spent.
- Fixed some specific cases where crowd NPCs could clip through vehicles while walking.
- Fixed an issue that could cause elevators in several quests to end up on the wrong floor when saving/loading after starting to move.
- Fixed an issue where the appearance of V’s hands in first-person perspective might not change correctly after installing or uninstalling Arm cyberware.
- Giving money to a homeless person will no longer lower your NCPD Wanted level.
- Fixed an issue where Cyberware could be downgraded to Level 1 after updating the game to 2.01.
- Fixed passive skill progression.
PC specific
- If you select default graphics settings, you should now choose the appropriate Quick Preset based on your hardware and according to the latest system recommendations.
- A mechanism has been introduced to detect mismatched or corrupted scripts caused by outdated mods or file corruption during update/installation. A descriptive error message will now be displayed and the game will close instead of causing a crash.
Console specific
- The internal buffer size of sav.dat has been increased to 15 MiB without increasing the overall maximum storage size.
- The save process has been reworked to not overwrite a save until we know the data is valid – this helps prevent save corruption if there isn’t enough space to save.
Mixed
- Various optimizations, performance improvements and crash fixes.
- Fixed an issue where some achievements or trophies could be unlocked after loading a pre-2.0 save on 2.01, despite not meeting the criteria for doing so. Please note that this solution does not reset already unlocked achievements.
- Fixed an issue where, under specific circumstances, the message ‘Warning – Detected’ could be displayed instead of ‘Completed’ when your vehicle was scanned or when you linked your personal link.
- Fixed an issue where flashing trash would sometimes be visible as it crawled in from the dump Playing for time.
- Fixed a misaligned glitch effect on Johnny.
- Fixed an issue where NPCs could appear stretched out when hit by explosions or the Savage Sling ability.
- Fixed an issue where map tooltips and interaction questions for renting apartments were showing double the actual price.
- Blocked cross-progression when uploading save files larger than the maximum save size on consoles to prevent crashes and issues when importing such save files.
- Remastered the voiceover to improve audio quality in German, Simplified Chinese and Japanese.
