Crystal Palace suffer blow with Michael Olise to miss their FA Cup clash with Everton after picking up a hamstring injury in the final minutes of Saturday’s 3-1 win over Brentford

  • Michael Olise was seen clutching his hamstring at the end of Saturday's match
  • Roy Hodgson has confirmed he will not be available to play against Everton
  • Four points from December 15 in December saw Arsenal catch up. They're not out of the woods yet, but where are they going this season? It all starts

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has been ruled out of his side's FA Cup tie against Everton tomorrow night due to a hamstring injury.

Olise scored twice in Palace's 3-1 win against Brentford on Saturday but was seen limping late in the match, raising concerns he may have suffered a fitness deficit.

Eagles boss Roy Hodgson confirmed Olise will not be available for Everton, admitting he is unsure how long the 22-year-old will be sidelined.

'Michael Olise had to come off straight away at the end because he felt his hamstring during the last sprint he made in the race. He won't be competing tomorrow,” Hodgson said.

'We have to take care of him and hope he comes back as soon as possible.

'The next question will be how long he will be out, but I can't answer that.

'We hope this one won't be as bad as the one that got him locked out for six months. We think and hope that it will not be the case.'

Olise's injury is a blow to the player and Palace, after he also missed his side's first 11 league games this season due to yet another hamstring problem.

Since returning to the team, he has scored five goals and registered one assist in nine games to prove his importance to the South London club.

Palace will have a 16-day break after playing Everton, with their next league match not scheduled until they travel to Arsenal on January 20.

They will then take on Sheffield United at Selhurst Park to round out the month ten days later.
