Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark caused a furore with royal fans yesterday after a video was shared online of him playing table tennis.
The royal joined 21 veterans with mental and physical injuries who will compete at the Invictus Games on Sunday afternoon to watch group training.
Shortly after, a clip was shared on the Danish royal family’s Instagram account, with many fans amazed at Frederik’s table tennis skills.
In the video, the heir to the throne can be seen playing the game along with the veterans – darting back and forth quickly as he beams with joy.
According to the Instagram post, in addition to a small table tennis match and archery competition, the crown prince “had a good chat with the entire Danish team during his visit.”

Many fans went wild over the clip, with one writing, “Our beautiful crown prince. He’s going to be a fantastic king.’
Another commented, “He’s going to be the coolest king in Denmark.”
A third added: “It’s nice that the Crown Prince is supporting our veterans. That’s more fun than big dinners with long speeches.’
A fourth wrote, “He’ll be a fantastic empathetic king.”
“He embraces everything,” wrote another. “We’re lucky with our next king.”
One of them remarked, “We should be proud… what a man of a gentleman. I’m a fan!’
Another added: “He’s just so sweet and relaxed, our Crown Prince.”
The Instagram post describes: ’21 veterans with mental and physical injuries after their deployment to the armed forces have gathered in the Road in recent days to train for the 2023 Invictus Games, which will take place in Düsseldorf next month.

Invictus Games is an international rehabilitation project for physically and mentally injured veterans. The goal is to change lives through sport.

It comes after Prince Harry confirmed he will be at the Invictus Games in Germany next month in a video message to attendees, revealing that his close friend Rita Ora will officiate at the closing ceremony.
The Duke of Sussex admitted he is both “excited and nervous” with a month to go until the event, which begins the day after the Queen’s death.

Harry will be flying from LA to Dusseldorf for the event which starts on September 9 and ends on September 16.
Rita Ora will perform at the closing ceremony, where Harry is expected to give an emotional speech. Rita and Harry have been friends for years.
In a video message recorded at his mansion in Montecito before leaving for Japan – but which appeared online today – Harry insisted, “It’s going to be the best games ever.”
He also praised competitors for taking the next step on their “healing journey,” insisting that the event, which he called a “home of respect,” be part of his own event.
Grinning into the virtual conversation, he said, “I hope you’re excited and probably a little nervous.
‘I am both. But I can’t wait to see you all and have the whole community back together. It has been too long’.

“Thank you for your service, for your effort, for your determination to get to this point. We’re going to have a lot of fun with it and yes, we’re looking forward to it. We are ready to receive you. It’s going to be the best games ever, the best games yet.”
Harry will reportedly be in Düsseldorf for the entire match. Meghan is expected to attend about half of that, including Harry’s speech at the closing ceremony.

His late grandmother, the Queen, died on September 8 last year. It is not yet known whether Harry will leave for Germany for the UK.
Last year, the Sussexes visited the city for an official competition launch event, where they met officials and potential entrants, as well as athletes’ friends and family.
It was seen at the time as part of a pseudo-royal tour of the UK and Europe – where police closed off intersections and set up miles of roadblocks so the couple and their entourage could avoid traffic jams.
City officials rolled out the red carpet but insisted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s visit was private.
They were protected by their own security team and the couple paid the bill.
Harry was instrumental in bringing the Games to the UK in 2014, when 300 competitors from 13 countries took part in the opening round in London.
