CrossFit, Reformer Pilates… even her kneecaps are lovely! Princess Kate shows off her toned legs as she wears a stunning red outfit to the state banquet at Buckingham Palace
Ooh La La! It’s just an accidental flash of a leg as a woman gets out of a car. . . but what a leg!
Very pale, very slender, both fine in bone and fine in color, and it is a leg attached to the Princess of Wales, which makes it all the more special.
Pictured yesterday greeting the President and First Lady of South Korea during a state visit to London, she appeared to slightly misjudge the height of the car in relation to the tarmac and thus the pin of perfection emerged.
Of course, Kate occasionally shows us her legs, in above-the-knee daywear and shorts on the sports field, but these images are much more arresting.
I think it’s their contrast with the understated outfit – the chic Jane Taylor hat, the midi length of her stunning £3,000 Catherine Walker red cape coat – chosen to welcome Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee on the Horse Guards Parade on the first upcoming state visit since the coronation of the king.

Kate is on parade with the in-laws and as she stands next to William, the coat covers almost to the ankle – although there is a more revealing knee-length dress underneath. But how does Kate get such legs? For starters, she’s lucky with her genes and body structure, which give her the basic blueprint. Some of us are built like draft horses, and some, like Kate, are thoroughbreds of nature.
She is one of the most elegant and beautiful representations of the human form. Even her kneecaps are beautiful!
Then there’s the fact that Kate is extremely slim. This low body fat allows us to see every detail of her musculature defined and contoured, especially her calves, slim but strong, whose shape is perfectly emphasized by her matching £650 Gianvito Rossi heels.
She clearly exercises and has in the past followed the Louise Parker Method, the lifestyle program that focuses on daily exercise, three healthy meals a day and sufficient sleep.
But we also know that Kate loves sports. Her favorite is hockey, but she is also good at tennis, has the upper body strength for rock climbing and looks like a natural athlete when she runs. She reportedly enjoys CrossFit, the high-intensity, strength and conditioning workout class.

But for the key to those exquisitely twisted legs, I’d put money into Reformer Pilates, an exercise class taught on what looks like a wooden torture table.
It has a low impact, but conditions the legs like no other – thanks to a specialized machine with a sliding base and all kinds of springs to increase resistance. The movements you perform on this machine require grace, balance and strength, working all the leg muscles.
The first Reformer Pilates classes arrived in the UK 15 years ago and it has been all the rage ever since.
It’s hard work – I know because I used to attend a session in London, trying not to notice supermodels like Claudia Schiffer or Elle Macpherson across the room.
But as Kate perhaps brilliantly shows, it certainly gets results.
