The holidays are in full swing and to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year, the cast of Crucial role has released a new full-length holiday album. With 11 original songs, Presents Critical Role: Winter’s Crest (a holiday album)the holiday album features appearances from the cast of Critical Role as themselves and as their characters from all three of the play’s main campaigns.
The company’s third album under Scanlan Shorthalt Music – a label named after Sam Riegel’s bard from the actual play’s first campaign, Vox Machina – Winter’s weapon brings to life the holiday of the same name in the universe. Like our world’s winter holidays, Winter’s Crest is Tal’Dorei’s celebration of light, feasting, and community. The holiday commemorates the alliance that defeated Errevon the Rimelord, a powerful ice elemental, and ended the Icelost Years.
The songs on the album include some titles that may sound familiar even to the non-Critters among us, such as “Silent Mind” performed by Laura Bailey as her character Imogen from Bells Hells, “O Mighty Nein” by Liam O ‘Brien as Caleb Widogast, and “Deck the Bear” sung by the entire cast of Vox Machina. Other notable songs include ‘Naughty & Nice’, ‘It’s Critmas!’ and ‘Twelve Days of Grogmas’. Contributions to the album include producer and instrumentalist Habib, artwork by Adelle Kincel, and design by Nate Gonzalez and Jordyn Torrence.
Winter’s weapon is available for immediate digital purchase on all major streaming platforms. A vinyl edition is also available for pre-order at scanlanshorthaltmusic.com.
