Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Real Madrid’s training camp in Valdebebas, four years after leaving the club following an iconic stint at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The Portuguese star, according to the Spanish publication Relovohe trained alone at the facility as he looks to stay in shape while looking for a new club.

Ronaldo has been a free agent since he terminated his contract with Manchester United last month, following his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo will spend a few days at Real Madrid's training camp.

The 37-year-old is said to have asked Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez if he could train in Valdebebas a few days after Portugal’s World Cup elimination.

Pérez gave Ronaldo the green light to use his facilities, telling the Portuguese star: “Of course, this is your house.”

Ronaldo cemented his legacy as one of the greatest soccer players of all time during his nine-year spell at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Among his extensive record at the club, he won two Leagues, four Champions Leagues, and four of his five Ballon d’Ors were awarded to him during his time at the club.

It would have been emotional for Ronaldo to return to the club’s training camp after four tumultuous years since.

However, it is not the same for Ronaldo, having had to train away from the club’s current crop of players, which is led by his former manager Carlo Ancelotti.

It’s a quick comeback for Ronaldo, given that most of the players are giving themselves a week to relax after their respective World Cup outings.

Ronaldo wasted no time in returning to training, and his search for a new club is probably a big factor behind that.

His contract at Manchester United was terminated following his interview with Morgan, in which he said he felt “betrayed” by the club and “had no respect” for manager Erik ten Hag.

The drama continued to follow him into the World Cup, after manager Fernando Santos ruled him out for his World Cup matches with Switzerland and Morocco.

He came off the bench in both games but was unable to make a good impression as they were knocked out in the quarter-finals by the African nation.

With the legendary striker turning 38 in February, plus the recent controversy surrounding his departure from United and the World Cup, his list of options appears to be limited.

One party interested in Ronaldo’s services is reportedly Antero Henrique, director of the Qatar Stars League.

Henrique is said to have addressed Ronaldo directly to express his interest in bringing him back to the gulf nation after the World Cup.

He hopes Ronaldo will join a Qatari club, but Mendes is working on a different proposal, the report states.

There were also reports that Ronaldo could join Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr on January 1.

But sources close to Ronaldo told Sportsmail that reports that a deal had been completed were “nonsense”.

AS claim that Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes are going through another “difficult period” in their long relationship.

This wouldn’t be the first time there have been tensions in their partnership, as what has felt like a ‘father and son’ relationship has experienced ‘ups and downs’ over the years.

Ronaldo has always had a good relationship with the president of Madrid, who declared in 2019 on Onda Cero: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo has never created a problem at Madrid. He has been an example and I will remember him as the best player we have signed.

“He has always been exemplary, a professional like the top of a pine tree. I have always had a perfect relationship with him and I have never had any personal or financial problems.
