Cristiano Ronaldo has described his newborn son’s death as the “worst moment” of his life in the latest reveal of his telling interview with Piers Morgan.
Portuguese captain and partner Georgina Rodriguez, 28, tragically revealed that their newborn son, named Angél, had died in childbirth on April 18, but his twin daughter Bella survived.
“Probably the worst moment I’ve had in my life since my father’s death,” Ronaldo can be heard saying to Morgan in the latest clip he shared of his father. TalkTV interviewwhich airs in full on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
“When you have a child you expect everything to be normal and when you have a problem it’s hard.
“Me and Gio (Georgina) had some difficult moments. It was very, very difficult to understand what was going on in that period of my life.
“Football doesn’t stop, we’ve had a lot of competitions. It was probably the most difficult moment in my life.’
Ronaldo added that he keeps Angél’s ashes close to those of his father, who died of liver failure in 2005, in a chapel in his home.

In April, they confirmed the death of a baby boy as “the greatest pain” but said the baby girl survived
“I talk to them all the time and they’re on my side,” he added, in quotes the sun.
“You know they help me be a better man, be a better person, be a better father.
“And it’s something I’m very proud of… the message they’re sending me, especially my son.”
Ronaldo gets emotional while talking to Morgan about the tragedy, adding how he cried along with his eldest child, Cristiano Jr., when he broke the news of Angél’s death to the other children.
“The kids are starting to say ‘where’s the other baby, where’s the other baby?'” he explains, before adding that he wants to be honest as they work through the grieving process.

Ronaldo believes the trauma of losing his newborn son brought him and his girlfriend closer as a result.
The Manchester United striker famously met Rodriguez while she was working as a shop assistant for Gucci in Madrid during his time playing for Real Madrid.
Along with Bella, their youngest child, Rodriguez shares daughter Alana, three, with Ronaldo.
Ronaldo was told that the grief of losing a child could cause irreparable damage to their relationship, but he countered that it now makes him feel “more in love with her” and his children.
