Cristiano Ronaldo may have been ‘FOOLED’ by £173m-a-year deal at Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo may be ‘FOOLED’ by his £173m a year deal with Al-Nassr, the Saudi side, says Rivaldo – as the Brazilian icon urges him to return to Real Madrid to end his career

  • Rivaldo claimed that Cristiano Ronaldo may have been fooled by his Al-Nassr deal
  • Ronaldo signed a huge £173 million a year contract with Saudi Arabia
  • And Brazilian icon Rivaldo suggested it may be time for him to return to Real Madrid

According to Rivaldo, Cristiano Ronaldo “could have been tricked” when he signed his huge contract with Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo, 38, joined Saudi Arabia in January after his contract with Manchester United was terminated following an explosive interview in which he criticized the club.

His £173 million a year deal spread over two and a half years makes him the highest paid player in world football.

But Brazilian icon Rivaldo has suggested that the huge salaries offered in Saudi Arabia mask the toughness of the competition and the way of life in the Gulf state.

He told Mundo Deportivo: ‘I understand that players are sometimes fooled by the big contract they sign in Saudi Arabia, but then life there is more closed and football is not always as easy as expected.

So maybe you’re going through a phase of some disappointment and even reflection. If the money you get is good for the not so happy life you are leading now.

It would be good for him and for football if Cristiano Ronaldo returns to Real Madrid to finish his career.

“Of course the fans have to understand that they can’t demand the same from him as he did when he was 25 or 26 years old, but he can still help the club to win more.”

Ronaldo has scored 12 goals in 16 games in all competitions for Dinko Jelicic’s side since joining.

But it is believed that Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez is not satisfied with life in Saudi Arabia and wants to return to Europe.

The experienced attacker may therefore want to take Rivaldo’s advice and return to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Portuguese star Ronaldo scored 450 goals in 438 games with the current European champions from 2009-2018.

Los Blancos would like to reunite with him, but as an ambassador instead of a player.
