The shortlists for both the men’s and women’s EA SPORTS FC Team of the Year have been revealed, with plenty of big names to choose from.
The nominee lists, which were unveiled on Monday afternoon, include more than 200 names and voting is now open to fans until Sunday, January 12.
Perennial prize winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are on the men’s shortlist – in a list packed with talent.
The pair are among 31 names on the striker shortlist, which also includes Liverpool’s Egyptian king Mohamed Salah, Real Madrid duo Vinicius Jr and Kylian Mbappe, as well as in-demand Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres and Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal.
Yamal, who graced the 2024 European Championship with Spain, is joined by compatriot Rodri, with the Ballon d’Or winner topping the list of midfield nominees.

The imperious Virgil van Dijk and the robust Antonio Rudiger are among the choices in defense, while Aston Villa’s number 1 and Argentina World Cup winner Emiliano Martinez is one of seven goalkeepers to vote for.
In total there are eight England internationals in the men’s ranks, including Chelsea playmaker Cole Palmer, Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane.
On the women’s side, there are several Lionesses up for vote in the EA SPORTS FC Team of the Year.
Defensive duo Alex Greenwood and Lucy Bronze are in with a chance of being nominated, as are electric forwards Lauren Hemp and Lauren James.
Hemp is joined by her Manchester City teammate Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, while Mayra Ramirez is a fellow Chelsea striker who wants to join James.
Wolfsburg forward Alexandra Popp, who helped Germany to Olympic gold at the 2016 Rio Games, is also a candidate for a nomination.
Spanish metronome Aitana Bonmati, who won back-to-back Ballon d’Or gongs, is among a stacked list in midfield that includes Pernille Harder and Brazilian legend Marta.
