Cristiano Ronaldo has laughed about his omission in the International Federation for Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) ranking of the ten best footballers of 2023.

Earlier this week, the organization published its annual ranking of the ten best football players in the world, with Manchester City's Erling Haaland being voted the best player of the year.

Yet there was no place on the list for the 38-year-old, with Bernardo Silva the only representative from Portugal to make the list.

The news was posted on Instagram by a Portuguese news channel A Bolawith the Al-Nassr attacker commenting on several smiling faces on Instagram.

Kylian Mbappe came second in the rankings, while Ronaldo's old rival Lionel Messi was voted third, having also won his eighth Ballon d'Or earlier this year.
