Cristiano Ronaldo was once again mocked by Saudi Arabian supporters during Al-Nassr’s draw against Al-Hilal.

Ronaldo, 39, has had an astonishing 18 months since moving to the Middle East. He scored 56 goals and added 15 assists in just 61 games for Al-Nassr.

However, a regular feature of his time in the Saudi Pro League (SPL) was rival fans mocking the Portuguese superstar for his lengthy battle with Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ronaldo are the two standout stars of their generation, having won 13 Ballon d’Ors and countless titles between them, but the game has long been divided over who is better.

And on Friday evening, Ronaldo was met with even more disparaging chants during Al-Nassr’s 1-1 draw with Al-Hilal.

The evening started well for Ronaldo, as he assisted Otavio’s goal within a minute, giving his side the lead.

However, the 39-year-old missed a great chance midway through the first half when he fired a shot on target from the penalty area.

After playing in, Ronaldo tried to finish with his left foot, but it all went wrong as his shot ended up closer to the corner flag than the goal, with the striker on the left with his hands on his head.

However, things got worse for him, with Aleksandar Mitrovic equalizing with a 100th-minute penalty for Al-Hilal, who have already clinched the SPL title.

Then, in the final stages of the match, a clip on social media showed Ronaldo crouched on the ground and looking demoralized.

To add to his misery, Al-Hilal fans started chanting ‘Messi, Messi, Messi’ at him as he was left fuming.

Al-Nassr, which is led by Portuguese coach Luis Castro, has Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozovic, David Ospina, Aymeric Laporte and Alex Telles in its ranks.

Despite Friday’s frustrations, it was still a decent campaign for the team, with Al-Nassr guaranteed to finish second in the SPL.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo is on the verge of winning the SPL’s Golden Boot after scoring 33 goals, which is six more than Mitrovic with just two league games remaining.
