Ronaldo is still under contract until the end of the season and Ten Hag has made it clear that he wants the 37-year-old to see his deal at the club.

However, the United hierarchy will reportedly let Ronaldo leave during the January transfer window due to his relationship with Ten Hag.

According to the MirrorUnited would like to see Ronaldo leave as long as they can find a club willing to pay his massive wages of £360,000 a week.

The sun previously reported it would cost United £10million to end Ronaldo’s contract early due to his excessive wages.

Ten Hag bans Ronaldo from the first team after storming through the tunnel before the whistle and refusing to fill in against Spurs

Monday’s conversation between Ronaldo and Ten Hag comes after Ronaldo stormed through the tunnel and refused to act as a substitute against Spurs.

The incident took place in the 89th minute. Ronaldo went into the tunnel, grabbed his things from the dressing room and left Old Trafford before the final whistle.

The public nature of his departure meant that Ten Hag and United had no choice but to intervene. As a result, they banned Ronaldo from first-team training and told him to train alongside the club’s promises instead.

However, Ronaldo – who arrived at the club at 8.30am – decided to train alone with the United coaches before leaving the club at 1pm.

Ronaldo trained alone after the incident against Tottenham on Wednesday

Monday’s talk will determine how Ronaldo and Manchester United’s coaching staff move forward after Wednesday’s incident.

Ten Hag wants Ronaldo to show genuine remorse for his actions before allowing him to return to first-team training.

Sportsmail previously reported how Ronaldo has shown thinly veiled disdain for Ten Hag and his coaching team, to the extent of blatantly ignoring a senior staff figure.

As a result, there was an overarching sense of hostility on the training ground. Players would be aware of the daily clashes between Ronaldo and Ten Hag, although this will not affect the spirit in the camp.
