Cristiano Ronaldo and Bernardo Silva are left less than impressed by Bruno Fernandes’ half-time tactics talk for Portugal… as duo offer HILARIOUS reaction to the Man United star during 2-0 win over Iceland

  • The Portuguese duo looked at each other before grinning and turning away
  • The curse of our game is referee abuse, we are not doing enough to stop it. The punishments must be SEVERE – It all starts

Cristiano Ronaldo and Bernardo Silva responded hilariously to Bruno Fernandes’ tunnel talk during Portugal’s 2-0 half-time win over Iceland.

Roberto Martinez’s side stormed to victory on Sunday evening as they recorded ten wins from ten games in their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.

While the national team may have dazzled on the pitch, it was their half-time antics that made headlines after the match.

Midway through the match, United captain Fernandes appeared to be having a team talk in the tunnel as they waited to go out for the second half.

Ronaldo and Silva are seen in a clip that later appeared on X listening to the conversation before turning to each other and grinning.

Portugal were one goal up at the time, thanks to a Fernandes strike in the first half, before Ricardo Horta doubled their lead in the second half.

Martinez’s side made history with the result as they celebrated a ‘perfect’ qualifying campaign, taking ten wins from their ten matches.

Fernandes’ former United teammate Ronaldo is the second top scorer in the qualifiers – with his tally of ten goals only surpassed by Belgian Romelu Lukaku.

The 38-year-old recently made headlines after reacting cruelly to claims made by former Sporting Lisbon academy star Fabio Paim.

Paim was seen as one of Portugal’s greatest players in the 2000s, with reports that even Ronaldo himself considered Paim the most promising young player of his generation.

However, Paim failed to fulfill his potential, never making a senior appearance for Sporting and having six loan spells at the club – including at Chelsea, where he also never played competitively.

In an interview on a podcast hosted by PT ClipesPaim said he deserved at least one of Ronaldo’s five Ballon d’Or trophies, and that he could have been on par with the Portuguese icon and Lionel Messi “if he had half of Cristiano’s brains.”

Ronaldo reacted strongly to the video, writing on Instagram: ‘Wtf??? Who is this guy.’

His response comes despite a number of reports claiming Ronaldo said: ‘If you think I’m good, wait until you see Fabio Paim’ after his move to Man United in 2003.

Paim said on the podcast: ‘Cristiano Ronaldo should offer me one of his Ballon d’Ors. I went to Sporting when I was seven years old, that’s where I grew up.

‘Those were glorious years in which I won everything I could. I didn’t reach where I could have reached, but I marked a generation. If people don’t forget, it’s because I marked them.

‘When I was happy, I said I thought Cristiano Ronaldo could offer me a Ballon d’Or. But it was done with humility. If I had half of Cristiano’s head, he and Messi wouldn’t be there.
