Harassment claims: Hedge fund magnate Crispin Odey sues the Financial Times

Crispin Odey is suing the Financial Times for defamation, almost a year after it published sexual harassment allegations against him.

The 65-year-old hedge fund magnate has been accused of his conduct by more than a dozen women between 1998 and 2021, according to an investigation.

Odey has denied all allegations but shortly after the reports stepped down from Odey Asset Management, which he founded in 1991, and it was decided that the fund would be wound down.

The FT said: ‘His lawyers recently sent us a letter of claim and a defamation claim has now been made. Our journalism about Mr Odey was carefully prepared and the publication was in the public interest.’
