Karl Stefanović Colleagues on the Today show couldn’t help but cringe this week when he revealed his very sexy nickname for himself.
The Channel Nine star discussed keeping the cost of home air conditioning down with Today money expert Joel Gibson on Wednesday morning.
“Okay, what do you think is the perfect temperature to set the air conditioning,” Karl asked.
Joel then suggested that the ideal temperature was 23 degrees.
“You won’t like this one, Karl, but the ideal temperature is around 23 or 24 degrees,” he said.
“For a number of reasons – financial reasons – but also: that’s actually the temperature that most people are comfortable with.”
Paul added that while many people will automatically lower the temperature, each degree during the summer season will add 10% to household bills.

“Many of us dial it back to 18 or 19, but if you start at 23 most people will be comfortable around that level, and each additional degree will cost you about 10% more on your bill over the season,” he said. .
“So 18 or 19 is going to cost you hundreds of dollars more than 23. So start there. If it’s not comfortable, I’ll let you turn it down a little more.”
This revelation did not sit well with Karl, who admitted that when it comes to the boudoir, he needs the temperature to be as low as possible.
“I have it in the bedroom because daddy gets hot,” Karl explained cheekily.
After dropping his nickname, Karl stared seductively into the camera as his co-host Sarah Abo looked visibly uncomfortable.
“Karl,” she groaned, before Paul intervened, “Daddy should try a ceiling fan.”
Sarah then took offense to Paul for encouraging Karl’s brash behavior.
“Don’t encourage him with the dad talk, we need to rule it out before 2025. No more dad talk,” Sarah said.

“I keep it in the bedroom because daddy gets hot,” Karl explained cheekily, much to the chagrin of his colleagues
Karl seemed impervious to Sarah’s protests and repeated the sentence, “Daddy’s getting hot.”
“Karl, that’s enough,” Sarah replied. ‘Please, viewers, help me. Nobody wants to hear that.’
The cheeky host upped the ante with a daring nod to his wife Jasmine.
“I know someone who does,” he said.
That was enough for Sarah, who once again begged Karl to tone down the bawdy banter.
‘Stop it. You’re so bad. She doesn’t want to hear that,’ Sarah replied.
Karl seemed delighted to have made his co-host feel uncomfortable, with a hearty laugh and a clap to punctuate his chilling revelation.

A clip of the exchange was shared on the Today Show Instagram page with the caption: “This is our formal petition for Karl to stop calling himself ‘Dad.’
However, it seems like fans might actually like Karl’s nickname.
“Keep up the good work, legend,” said one follower. ‘Never stop. Big daddy always delivers.”
Another said something similar: ‘Karl is today’s great dad.’
A third offered: ‘This is why I watch the Today Show. They report and comment on the serious stuff and then there are segments that are light and funny!
‘I start my day with the most important news and then start laughing. Thank you!’
