Cricket star laughs all the way to the bank as he sells stunning five-bedroom Sydney property for eye-watering profit

Cricket champion Moses Henriques has scored a huge real estate win after selling his stunning home in Sydney’s eastern suburbs for a whopping $8.3 million.

Henriques, 37, bought the luxury five-bedroom, two-bathroom beachfront Clovelly apartment for $3.125 million in 2018 with his ex-wife, KIIS FM newsreader Krista Thomas.

The two-story property first hit the market earlier this month for $7.5 million and took just eight days to find a buyer.

Thomas and Henriques purchased the original 1930s home on the site as a demolition property and completed the rebuild in 2019, reported The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday.

Located 9.9km from the CBD, the expansive, state-of-the-art pad features a sleek, eco-friendly design and stunning ocean views.

Highlights include a thoughtful open design, skylights and a tropical garden.

There is also an outdoor dining area and a barbecue island.

Other features include a Telsa Powerwall with backup storage.

Meanwhile, the master bedroom is another highlight, with a lavish bathroom and custom window seating that makes the most of the beautiful ocean views.

Portuguese-born Sydney Sixers Henriques is known as an all-rounder and announced his romance with TV personality Sophie Walsh earlier this year.

The Today Show’s Walsh posted a photo of the couple at Taylor Swift’s blockbuster concert at Accor Stadium in February.

The Nine star had previously shared a photo of the couple in January, announcing that the pair were seeing each other.

Henriques is a much-loved cricketer, having represented Australia in all three formats of the game.

He shares a four-year-old son from his previous marriage to ex Krista Thomas.

Henriques and Thomas tied the knot in 2018 with a beautiful wedding in Cairns.

The cricket star has been widely praised for speaking openly about mental health issues, including his own.

In 2018, Henriques revealed in a tell-all interview that he was constantly struggling with crippling depression and anxiety.

During Test matches, which could last up to five days, the cricket star would not sleep.

A doctor recommended that he go to a mental health facility. But Henriques was so ashamed that he immediately stopped himself.

He couldn’t bring himself to talk to other patients because he thought he had it so good after an illustrious playing career left him in financial trouble, while others in therapy had “real problems.”

Despite never participating in a group session, Henriques considers this the turning point in his journey.

He likened his battle to mental illness as an “injury,” and says injuries don’t always require a hospital. But they do need rehabilitation.

Henriques dedicated himself every day to getting better.

He read books about depression and discussed it with friends and teammates. He interrupted panic attacks with exercises and spoke daily with the Australian team’s psychologist, Michael Lloyd.
