Cricket star Glenn Maxwell is under investigation after being rushed to hospital following a big night out

Glenn Maxwell is under investigation after he was rushed to hospital following a rowdy night out.

The Australian World Cup star was taken by ambulance to the Royal Adelaide Hospital on January 19.

He was watching former cricketer Brett Lee’s tape, Six and Out, with other Australian and West Indian players earlier in the evening before the incident took place.

Cricket Australia has confirmed it is aware of the incident and has launched an investigation into what happened.

Maxwell did not stay in the hospital overnight and has already returned to training the upcoming T20 series against West Indies.

The exact circumstances surrounding Maxwell’s hospital visit remain unclear.

CA said on Monday that Maxwell has been ‘rested’ from the ODI series against West Indies starting February 2, but this is not related to his hospital admission.

Maxwell and teammate Jhye Richardson, who was uninjured, was replaced by Jake Fraser-McGurk and Xavier Bartlett.

Maxwell had praised the 21-year-old for his performance on X in December, calling him the ‘most talented young batsman in the country’.

“No one in Australia is better to watch than Fraser-McGurk,” Maxwell wrote.

‘His potential actually has no ceiling.’

Maxwell’s latest injury drama comes after he fell off the back of a golf cart with a concussion in October.

The batsman was also ruled out for five months in 2022 after breaking his leg while slipping at a friend’s party.
