Comedian Bill Maher surprised the Hawk Tuah girl when he urged her to start a podcast that focuses on sex.
The irreverent comedian made the lewd suggestion during a recent episode of his podcast Club Random.
Hailey Welch, the 23-year-old known online as the ‘Hawk Tuah Girl’, appeared shocked when Maher offered her the chance to host a show called ‘Sex Expert’.
Welch went viral earlier this summer when she used the phrase “hawk tuah” to describe spitting as part of oral sex during an impromptu interview on a street in Nashville.

“You should do a podcast. Do it here on Club Random if you do it my way,” Maher said.
“Sex expert,” he continued.
Welch, taken aback by Maher’s inappropriate suggestion, laughed in disbelief and looked away.
“No, I’ll tell you why… you were given the chip of fame. Now you want to trade that in for something that uses that, but takes it to the next level.”
He added: ‘You have to act on what you’re already known for. That’s the only thing you’re known for.’
Welch nodded and looked absently at Maher, who outlined his vision for the podcast.
“It couldn’t be frivolous. You should take it seriously,” he said.

Then the liberal comedian asked, “Can you do that?”
“Possibly,” Welch said without enthusiasm.
Maher said it would be essential for Welch to discuss sex in a serious way because “there are a lot of really serious issues.” [involving intercourse].
I mean, there is one [issue] “It’s about what made you famous,” Maher continued.
“Yes, indeed,” Welch agreed.
“What am I going to say?” the comedian asked, before adding, “You have no idea what I’m going to say.”
At that point, the ‘Hawk Tuah Girl’ admitted that she felt uncomfortable.
“I don’t know where this is going. I’m a little nervous.”

“I’ll tell you where this is going,” Maher said, pointing at her.
“You learned that spitting from porn,” the comedian said, referring to Welch’s “hawk tuah” comment.
The 23-year-old was initially speechless, but then burst out laughing, shocked by Maher’s comment.
“The idea of spitting — first of all, it’s gross. It’s unnecessary. It didn’t exist before porn,” the podcast host continued.
The comedian’s bizarre comments quickly sparked a backlash from X.com users, who were shocked by Maher’s “creepy” behavior.
“Absolutely disgusting,” one person wrote.
“Maher is a creep,” thought one X.com user.
Maher urged Welch to start a podcast about sex, but made it clear that she would have to discuss the topic seriously
“This is so awkward. What a weirdo,” another commenter added.
During the podcast, Maher also discussed other cultural topics, such as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.
The comedian was confident that the football star would soon dump the pop idol.
“He’s going to dump her… it’s like the Gatorade at the Super Bowl: You know you’re going to get dumped,” he said.
Maher later mused about Swift’s identity as an artist and her potential political influence.
“I mean, this is a country girl, right?” he mused.
“She started out as a country artist. She’s a white girl from Pennsylvania, I think, grew up on a farm, right? Never had a black boyfriend.
During the rest of the podcast interview, Maher spoke on topics including Taylor Swift and the dangers of pornography
“You know, if ‘MAGA’ is full of racists, they’ll probably like that.”
Still, Maher reserved his most critical comments on the subject of pornography.
“Porn is not innocent… It has twisted the minds of the children of your generation, especially the boys,” he told Welch.
“People are really sick,” he added.
