Creep admits to poisoning wife’s coke in twisted plot to kill her and marry her daughter

An Indiana man has confessed to laced his wife’s Coca-Cola cans with drugs including cocaine and MDMA in order to kill her and marry her daughter.

On Monday, Alfred Ruf, 71, was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated assault endangering life.

The charges against the 71-year-old man stem from a series of incidents in 2021 in which he allegedly spiked his wife’s soda a dozen times.

In January 2022, Ruf came under investigation after his wife, Liza Bishop, 51, reported to authorities that she believed her husband was trying to poison her.

Before calling police, Bishop was hospitalized six times over the course of several weeks.

She suffered from unexplained headaches, drowsiness, diarrhea and other strange symptoms.

During each hospital stay she tested positive for drugs such as cocaine, MDMA and benzodiazepines, but she did not use any of these substances.

At some point, Bishop also discovered a powdery residue in her cans of Coca-Cola.

Ruf later admitted to his wife that he had indeed tried to poison her because he felt “bad” about it, after which she contacted the police.

When authorities arrived at the couple’s home, they reportedly heard Ruf say he had “laced” his wife’s drink with an “unknown substance” he had gotten from her 31-year-old daughter.

The 71-year-old was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, where he allegedly confessed to the poisonings during an interview. He also reportedly admitted to having a sexual relationship with Bishop’s daughter from a previous marriage.
