Scott Stapp and his wife, Jaclyn Stapp, have officially separated after the fashion model filed for divorce after nearly two decades of marriage.

The Creed frontman, 50 – who recently opened up about “tough times” following his substance abuse and bipolar disorder diagnosis – tied the knot with the former beauty queen in 2006.

The couple also welcomed three children during their marriage: daughter Milan, 17, and sons Daniel, 13, and Anthony, six. Scott is also dad to Jagger, 25 – who he shares with ex-wife Hillaree Burns.

This is evident from court documents obtained by TMZJaclyn, 43, had initially filed for divorce in May last year.

A representative for the mother of three told the newspaper that she “endured a long struggle” during their long-term relationship and has decided to move forward with a divorce.

Jaclyn has previously filed for divorce from the artist, including 10 years ago in 2014 and then again in 2018, but retracted the decision each time.

She first filed in 2014 and according to divorce papers at the time, former Miss New York claimed Scott had threatened to kill her and their children.

The model further claimed that drugs led him to believe that biological weapons were headed to Florida.

After suffering a psychotic breakdown and being placed in a psychiatric facility 5150, Scott was treated at a clinic in Malibu, and has since credited Jaclyn with helping him get the help he needed.

However, four years later in 2018, she filed for divorce again, but it was called off in early 2019.

During an interview with People Earlier in March, to promote his new album, Higher Power, Scott opened up about family and receiving support from loved ones during his sobriety journey.

‘I’ve never had a family like this before. They really showed me what a family is all about, supporting each other and sticking together.”

He continued, “I got to see a real family take action, and hopefully we can continue that no matter how the story unfolds.”

“Relationships teach you many things, good and bad, and I’ve learned that no matter how they resolve or how they continue, every stage in every season of the relationship is definitely a learning experience,” the star added. the outlet.

“You have to look back at it no matter what. Reframing it, regardless of the circumstances, will accelerate growth and make you a better person and partner.”

In 2015, the performer revealed his bipolar diagnosis and while recently speaking to People, he also touched on the topic of mental health and his own struggles.

“It’s still a challenge because I think it goes against my nature: as a child I was always alone, and alone when I experienced things.”

Scott went on to say, “It seems like a lot of men feel like they have to be strong, that they have to hold it together no matter what, and they just suffer in silence.”

“It’s hard to pick up that phone and say, ‘Hey, I’m having a hard time. I need someone right now.'” That’s something that really, really bothered me when I first tried to get sober in 2008 .’

‘I would never answer the phone. It blew my mind and for some reason the phone weighed 10,000 pounds,” the star explained.

In regards to asking for help, he added, “It’s definitely something that I would encourage anyone who’s going through anything… You don’t have to do it alone.”

The singer is gearing up for his Creed tour after reuniting with the Grammy-winning band last July.

Later this year, on July 17, the group will kick off their The Summer of ’99 Tour in Green Bay, Wisconsin, which ends in September.

And in November the band will also start with Are You Ready? Tour through December, stopping in cities like Austin, Baltimore, New York, Quebec, and also Atlanta.
