- Police say a man attacked three people with a glass bottle Thursday evening in an unprovoked attack that started at a Whole Foods in Manhattan
- The first attacks occurred on Sixth Avenue across from Bryant Park around 6:30 p.m., and the third took place at a subway station at 47th Street and Sixth Ave.
- The suspect – identified as Michael Howell – has been arrested and charged with assault, while the three victims have been taken to hospital in stable condition.

A man who carried out random and unprovoked attacks on three people with a glass bottle in New York City on Thursday has been arrested and charged with assault.
Suspect Michael Howell, 33, was taken into custody after allegedly wounding a 23-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman and a 55-year-old woman in a series of attacks.
The first attacks happened around 6:30 p.m. at Whole Foods on Sixth Avenue – across the street from Bryant Park – while the third happened immediately afterward.
Photos show police driving a man in a black hoodie and black pants into the NYPD’s Midtown South precinct in handcuffs late Thursday night.
The attack comes on the same day that 18-year-old Brooklyn stabbing suspect Brian Dowling appeared before a judge in the unprovoked murder of Ryan Thoresen Carson.
