Cranbourne West: Horror as cop is allegedly stabbed outside a home in suburban Melbourne

A teenager has been arrested after a police officer was allegedly stabbed in the driveway of a suburban home.

Police received a report of a serious burglary at a home on George Frederick Road, Cranbourne West in Melbourne’s south-east at around 4.30pm on Tuesday.

When police arrived on the scene, an officer was confronted by a man who stabbed him in the leg.

The officer was taken to hospital with injuries, but his life is not in danger.

Three other people who were in the house at the time were not injured.

An 18-year-old man from Cranbourne West has been arrested and will be questioned.

“At this early stage of the investigation it is claimed that there has been no break-in at the property,” a police statement said.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
