The circumstances surrounding the collision have yet to be determined and officers are continuing to investigate.
The fatality comes as Victorian motorists are urged to exercise more caution when traveling as tolls continue to rise.
Victoria's toll has reached a 15-year high, with a total of 270 deaths on the state's roads, compared to this time last year when 225 lives were lost.
The figure is the highest since 2008, when 261 people died on the state's roads, and represents an increase of more than 20 percent for the year to date.

A total of 241 people died in road accidents in 2022, slightly more than the five-year average of 237. Of these, 36 died between November and December.
Earlier this year, Deputy Roads Policing Commissioner Glenn Weir described the grim milestone as 'truly tragic'.
'With two months left in the year it is incredibly worrying that we find ourselves in this position. This should be a wake-up call for everyone,” he said.

The little girl suffered extensive bruises and tire marks on her leg, back and ear as a result of the horrific accident.
The child was flown to hospital by a LifeFlight rescue helicopter after being treated by paramedics after her father initially resuscitated her.
The tires of the ute are said to have rolled over the girl at low speed, pushing her into the sand.
