‘Pretty sure they hate me’: Cowboys’ Micah Parsons admits he may have ruffled the Eagles’ feathers, but offers reasoning for Jalen Hurts’ controversial comments

Micah Parsons provided an explanation for his comments about Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts, which caught the attention of many across the NFL world.

Parsons raised his eyebrows as he stood in the voncast on Wednesday with fellow rushing phenomenon, Von Miller. The Defensive Rookie of the Year mentioned his feelings about the Eagles, and his quarterback’s dominant season.

The Cowboys linebacker suggested Jalen Hurts’ record-breaking season and potential MVP was more “system and team” than his own individual greatness.

A media firestorm ensued, and as such, Parsons jumped in to clarify on Thursday when speaking to reporters.

Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons has questioned whether Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts deserved to be credited for both his and the team’s success in the midst of its phenomenal season.

“I mean you have to stand up for everything you say as a man,” he commented.

“Obviously they cut it down and took a line that was actually talked about. No pun or disrespect to Hurts.

“I think he is doing very well this year. But, you know me, I’m a defensive guy, and I said the Eagles defense is the team to watch. They have incredible players there, making plays all year.

“From a defensive aspect, I know the attackers get all the credit, so I just want to defend the defenders.”

It’s not the first back pedal Parsons has committed in recent weeks. His presence is felt both on and off the field, not unlike his counterpart in Miller.

“I’m pretty sure they hate me,” Parsons said of the NFC East rival Eagles.

Philadelphia lineman Jordan Mailata expressed his thoughts on viral dating earlier this week.

At The Voncast, Parsons (right) created more bulletin board material ahead of his Dec. 24 game.

“I’m going to worry about the Chicago Bears this week, mate, worry about this game,” Mailata said.

Micah should also worry about his game this week. I don’t know who the hell you’re playing, pardon my language. Just worry about who you have this week.

That’s how we do it here. I’m not going to worry about any other comments that someone has said. This is how we approach and run our business.’

“We have the Chicago Bears, not the Chicago Micah Parsons,” Mailata insisted.

The Eagles and Cowboys will meet in a fierce battle between two of the best teams in the NFC next week on Christmas Eve at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata said the Cowboys should focus on their next game against the Jaguars instead of looking ahead to the Christmas Eve matchup between the teams.
