Courtney Love’s Hollywood comeback: Hole rocker returns to the big screen after a five-year absence in new JFK movie Assassination alongside Al Pacino and John Travolta
Courtney Love returns to the big screen after a nearly five-year absence from movies in the upcoming thriller movie Assassination.
According to deadlinewill appear alongside John Travolta, Al Pacino, Viggo Mortensen and Shia LaBeouf in the project, which will be presented at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
The frontwoman of The Hole, who recently commemorated the 29th anniversary of Kurt Cobain’s death, will be working with director David Mamet and co-screenwriter Nicholas Celozzi.
The assassination will take place 48 hours prior to the controversial death of former President John F. Kennedy.
The film will focus on a screenplay where Chicago mob boss Sam Giancana orders an assassination attempt on the politician he helped take office in retaliation for his efforts to crack down on organized crime.

Celozzi is the second cousin of the mobster, who was murdered in 1975 at the age of 67.
Physical production of the feature is currently scheduled to begin in Vancouver in September.
The role Love will play has not yet been publicly revealed.
Gary Hamilton, chairman of Arclight Films, issued a statement to express his excitement about the upcoming project.
“With the undeniable talent of David Mamet at the helm and our amazing cast led by Viggo Mortensen, Al Pacino, Shia LaBeouf and John Travolta, the stars are really aligned,” he said.
The entertainment industry figure went on to describe Assassination as “a compelling and gripping thriller set in a pivotal period in American history, brilliantly crafted by Mamet – it’s an absolutely fantastic project.”
Assassination’s future release date has not been announced.
Love previously made her feature film debut in the 1986 feature film Sid and Nancy.
