Courteney Cox brings back THAT Scream 3 haircut as she dresses dogs up as Ghostface for Halloween

Courteney Cox brought back her iconic Scream 3 hairstyle when she spoofed Gale Weathers for Halloween on Thursday.

The Friends actress, 60, who recently sent daughter Coco off to college, wore a brunette wig with very short bangs as she recreated her character’s much-derided hairstyle from the 2000 film.

The star, dressed in a fuchsia trouser suit, was filmed dressing her dogs in miniature Ghostface outfits, complete with masks.

But just as she completed her look, the real Ghostface stood up from the bushes and brandished a knife at Cox – who screamed comically.

Many fans took the video as a sign that Cox has finally signed on for Scream 7 – after revealing last month that she had yet to seal her return.

Directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the first film in the 1996 series also starred David Arquette, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich and Drew Barrymore.

The Craven and Williamson teamed up again for Scream 2 (1997), with Arquette, Campbell and Cox reprising their roles, along with cast newcomers Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jamie Kennedy, Laurie Metcalf, Jerry O’Connell, Jada Pinkett and Liev . Schreiber.

The first sequel proved to have similar success to the original, grossing $172 million at the worldwide box office, but this time the budget increased to $24 million.

Ultimately, Scream 3 became a hit at the worldwide box office, grossing $161.8 million in revenue against a $40 million budget.

Williamson returned to the franchise for Scream 4 (2011) alongside Craven as director, but it floundered in the money-making department, earning $97.2 million on a $40 million budget.

Campbell confirmed her return to the Scream group last March.
