Court sends RG Kar’s ex-director Ghosh to judicial custody till September 23

Former RG Kar Medical College and Hospital principal Sandip Ghosh was on Tuesday remanded in police custody till September 23 by a special CBI court in the financial irregularities case.

The court also remanded his security personnel Afsar Ali and two alleged associates, contractors Biplab Sinha and Suman Hazra, in judicial custody till September 23.

The CBI has informed the court that it will, if necessary, seek their custody again.

Ghosh was arrested by the CBI on September 2 on charges of financial irregularities, amid protests over the rape and murder of the doctor at the RG Kar MCH.

On September 3, he was sentenced by the court to eight days of CBI custody.
