A couple woke up to an eerie ‘shuffling’ sound echoing through their home, only to discover a flock of sheep had walked onto their roof.
Kristen Jackson, 28, and Daniel Payne, 33, were in bed when they heard the unusual noise above them around 8 a.m. Friday.
When Kristen stepped outside her home in Whitworth, Lancashire, she was surprised to see that the sheep had jumped onto the roof of the single-storey bungalow.
She managed to film the bizarre encounter on her phone, which showed four sheep strolling across her roof before casually stepping off on the other side.
Kristen said: ‘I was working from home and my partner had the day off, but I was awake and all I could hear was rumbling on the roof.

‘I woke my partner up and thought, ‘Do you hear that?’ He said, ‘It’s probably just birds.’
‘With the wood next to us we get a lot of wood pigeons and it’s not the first time we hear them outside. But I was sure it sounded much heavier and that it had been going on for a while.’
Curious to find out what was causing the noise, Kristen put on a robe and stepped out the back door to find four sheep on the roof – leaving her ‘in shock’.
Kristen said: ‘I burst out laughing and ran back inside to get my phone first. I had to take a picture because no one would believe me. But I was screaming at my partner to come outside and see this.
‘I didn’t tell him what it was, so when he came out I think he thought I was overreacting to something.
“He looked up and couldn’t believe it and started laughing. We knew how they got on the roof, but it’s still crazy to think that they actually did it.”
Kristen, who has lived in the house she is renovating with Daniel since June of last year, says she has often seen sheep and cows roaming around her home, but she had never seen them on the roof until Thursday.
Kristen added: ‘I’m more concerned about whether they did any damage or whether the edges fell off because it’s a big fall.
‘When we were spotted, the sheep got scared. Luckily, they jumped off the roof straight away and were able to walk back up the hill to the fields.’
