A couple lured a mentally retarded boy to their home with ‘free drugs’ before filming themselves having sex with him over a period of at least five years.

Paul Bamforth, 50, appeared in Gosford’s local court on Friday and pleaded guilty to 65 charges, including 21 counts of aggravated intercourse between 2016 and 2021, when the boy was 12 to 16 years old.

It came after his wife Julia Ann Bamforth, 49, pleaded guilty to 67 charges, including 13 counts of aggravated sexual intercourse and 14 counts of intentionally sexually touching a child.

The depraved couple were only caught after police raided their home in Narara, on the NSW Central Coast, searching for drugs and weapons and uncovering sick videos of child abuse.

The court then heard an officer interview the victim who said he was a young child when he first met the couple.

He told investigators how he would be invited to the couple’s house under false pretenses, but each time “it was to fuck his wife, but I didn’t want to, but I had to,” the Daily Telegram reported.

The victim also said:: “I used to get free weed, free ice cream, free MDMA from him, to do that… to hurt his wife.”

While discussing the case, the court heard that on February 26 last year, the Brisbane Water Police searched the couple’s address where they seized a number of items, including a ‘zombie sword’, testosterone and a mobile phone.

After the couple was arrested, a neighbor was cleaning up when she discovered five computer hard drives in a shoe cabinet among some trash.

She then found two more taped to the bottom of a bedside table as police discovered the disturbing sexual abuse of the couple.

Police also discovered numerous text messages between Mr and Mrs Bamforth, revealing how they intended to abuse the boy.

During these exchanges, “it is clear that the co-perpetrators are aware of the victim’s cognitive impairment” and are calling him the “retarded,” according to court documents.

Items seized by police at the address included a ‘zombie sword’, testosterone and a cell phone.

Police also found about 300 “stories” written by both Mr and Mrs Bamforth in the Notes feature of an iPhone 11 dating back to 2016.

The disturbing stories, sometimes up to 2500 words, detail their sexual offenses and fantasies.

“These notes also include numerous sexual encounters with the victim and another young person,” court documents said.

“One story describes the fantasy of both, taking homeless or abandoned children to oppose and the discussion of kidnapping children to satisfy their sexual urges and fantasies.”

Mr and Mrs Bamforth will appear in Gosford Court on 29 September to set a date for their sentencing.
