Josh O’Brien called into Neil MItchell’s show on Melbourne radio station 3AW on Thursday to make a desperate plea for help after their apricot toy cavoodle was spotted Wednesday by neighbors wandering down Carroll Street in Melbourne’s west.

According to Mr. O’Brien, the burglars broke into his Deer Park home at about 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. while he and his partner, Maggie Amber, were at work, taking about $6,000 worth of valuables and sentimental treasures. steel.

When Mrs. Amber got home at 8pm, she called him immediately and explained that their jewellery, passports and their dog Ron were gone.

Although the house was “tilted upside down,” the couple’s main priority is locating the missing pet.

“Our dog went missing, we found out it wasn’t stolen because some of our neighbors actually saw it on the street around 2am, which means they probably robbed the place around 1am,” Mr O’Brien told me. 3AW.

“He’s very friendly, when he sees someone he just comes over and hugs you to be honest.

“When you see him, just say Ron and give him a quick whistle and he’ll come straight to you.”

Veteran announcer Mitchell said he doesn’t usually broadcast missing dog cases “because there are millions of them,” but changed his tone when he heard about the robbery.

When the host asked how much valuables had been stolen and how the criminals had broken in, Mr. O’Brien briefly explained the situation before turning attention back to his missing dog.

“It was a lot of sentimental stuff… so my partner’s dad’s gold ring, a couple of watches—probably around $6-7,000 and that’s not even counting the dog,” Mr. O’Brien said. .

“But we don’t really care about that, it’s mostly the dog we actually want to find to be honest.

“So I’m off work for the next few days and just put up posters and all over social media.”

Mr O’Brien said the burglars kicked open the rear gate before using pliers to pry open the rear door.
