A couple expecting a baby were shocked to discover their first ultrasound had incorrectly identified their child’s gender, but only after they had hosted two gender reveal parties.
Aylin Rósales, from Southern California, said in November that she and her husband, who were to tie the knot in 2022, were expecting a baby girl at an ultrasound appointment last fall.
They then had an intimate, personal gender reveal, with the couple simply cutting a cake side by side to discover the pink inside.
They then shared the news with their entire family at a large gathering, via mini cannons that sent out pink confetti.

“When EVERYONE thought we found out the gender of our baby,” Aylin wrote via a text overlay from the party.
She then wrote, above a shot of just her and her partner cutting open the cake: “When WE thought we found out the gender of our baby.”
But during a subsequent ultrasound, the sonographer became confused when looking at the images of Aylin’s stomach.
“No, it’s a boy,” the technician explained to the expectant mother, shaking his head.
She added with a text overlay of ultrasound surprise: “When we REALLY found out the gender of our baby.”
In the caption, Aylin explains: ‘From the moment I knew I was pregnant, I had a feeling we were going to have a baby boy. I was so happy anyway, but this made me realize that I can really trust my intuition.
“This baby is taking us through an emotional roller coaster… I am officially and definitely… a boy mom this time.”

“I just feel like I’m having trouble returning or exchanging certain gifts,” one person chuckled.
“This happened to me LOL, they told my parents I was a boy and I came out as a girl,” wrote a second.
“I was told it was a girl and after seven months we found out it was a boy,” echoed a third.

Similarly, at Aylin’s previous ultrasound appointment last fall, the baby had crossed her legs, making it more challenging to determine the gender on the spot with total certainty.
