Couple claim to be ‘photobombed by the ghost of a dead soldier’ while dining at celeb-haunt in London

A couple have claimed they were bombarded by the ghost of a dead soldier while dining at a top London restaurant.

Ross Cheeseman, 35, says he was out with his partner Georgia Renshaw-Smith, 26, from Bristol, and her family for a birthday dinner at the famous Quaglino’s in St James’s.

The couple, who have been together for four years, took a photo while drinking champagne and tucking into oysters.

In the terrifying photo, a translucent white figure appears to float behind the pair, which Ross says resembles a “military in uniform.”

Quaglino’s is a famous brasserie-style restaurant that dates back to 1929 and has been a celebrity draw for decades. Guests have included everyone from Queen Elizabeth II to Elton John, and in recent years, Prince Harry.

The couple’s banquet at Quaglino was shockingly photobombed by the appearance of a ‘dead soldier’ – in the ‘best ghost photo ever’

Ross claims the snapshot even left waitresses behind and left the restaurant manager shocked as they had never seen anything like it – but he can’t deny it’s a fitting spot as the popular eatery is steeped in history.

Ross explained, “I turned the camera on my iPhone to the front camera to take a selfie of me and my partner.

‘I had taken one or two photos that my partner wasn’t happy with, so I took another. This was the photo where, when we looked at it, there was something in the background that looked like a ghost.

‘I think the ghostly figure looks like some sort of broad-shouldered ex-serviceman in uniform looking over my or my partner’s shoulder.

‘It appears transparent because you can make out a spine and ribs. I think it also looks like he’s wearing some kind of headband or hat.”

He continued, β€œI showed it to the family and we were all amazed by it.

‘Georgia’s family thought I had manipulated the photo, but then realized that was impossible given the time between it being taken and being shown. I have absolutely no explanation for what lies behind us.

‘Then we showed the waiters and waitresses and asked if they had ever seen anything similar. All the waitresses and waiters were shocked.

“They even took my phone and showed it to the manager, who came to tell us how creepy it was.”

The 35-year-old quality inspector explained that the family was sitting next to a glass-fronted cabinet that contained several very old photos of the restaurant’s founders.

Despite not believing in ghosts, he admitted: ‘I haven’t done extensive research into the restaurant but I know it is very old and has housed guests such as the Kray twins and the Queen, so it is a very fitting place for a ghost. .’
