She said her boyfriend thought it was “awesome” and that there should be more duck references in it.

“He said, ‘Why aren’t they ducks?’ and I said, ‘Well, I have a relationship with the Duck, so I write about chickens,’” ​​the country star recalled.

Lainey joked, “I think I’m going to ask him to marry me because he’s never asked me to marry him.”

However, she made it clear that the couple was still enjoying extramarital bliss and that they weren’t quite ready to tie the knot just yet.

In June of last year, Lainey opened up about a concert she performed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in April as the opening act for Luke Combs, wearing a Steelers jersey with her boyfriend’s name on it, leading to speculation that they were in a relationship.

“Well, the funny thing is, we literally played Pittsburgh a couple weeks before the show and me and my band were all wearing Duck Hodges shirts,” she said. “And that started a few rumors.”
