Willie Nelson is set to release a special album with his youngest son Micah. The duo will unite through music as they work on their special project.
The 91-year-old Always On My Mind hitmaker has seven children in total, but it seems Micah, 34, is the one who wants to follow in his father’s musical footsteps.
Over the past few months, the father-son duo have been collaborating on the album, which will be released on November 1.
The album is called Last Leaf on the Tree and Micah is the producer and also plays several instruments.
Although Willie and Micah were already very close, it seems like the two took their relationship to the next level after working long hours in the studio.

According to Saving Country MusicThe album will feature original songs by Willie and other artists.
Micah produced the project and played a major role in song selection.
The 34-year-old told the outlet that he took the “sculptor’s approach” to their project, before noting that he and his father worked incredibly hard on the album.
He said, ‘It’s an approach I really like and have used a lot over the years: just lay down the clay and step back a bit, then maybe add a little bit, then maybe shave a little bit off here and build the tracks that way.’
Musician and composer Tom Waits and Neil Young contributed songs to the album.
Meanwhile, Micah added the song Wheels. As for Willie, he gives listeners a flashback to the past by re-recording the hit The Ghost, which he first wrote in 1962.
The musical father-son duo combined their talents and collaborated on the song The Color of Sound.
Willie’s son reportedly plays more than two dozen instruments on the album, including guitars, pianos and “sticks, branches, logs and dead leaves.”

In June, Willie was unable to perform on the preliminary rounds of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour after his team announced that he was “not feeling well.”
“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and has been advised by his doctor to rest for the next four days,” the Grammy Award winner’s team wrote in the statement.
“He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week. In the meantime, Lukas Nelson and the Family Band, along with a few guests, will be playing a special set of Willie’s classics and other songs.”
Bob Dylan, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss and Celisse performed at the festival as planned.
The Outlaw Music Fest Tour concludes on September 20 in Gilford, New Hampshire.
Willie previously had to cancel his 2019 tour with Krauss, 52, after reporting he had a “breathing problem” that required treatment.
The cannabis expert announced later that year that he had quit smoking weed due to the health crisis.
