Count Nikolai of Denmark has launched a new Instagram account to promote his modeling career after his ‘HRH’ status was stripped by his grandmother Queen Margrethe.

It was a tumultuous year for the Danish royal family after the monarch stripped Prince Joachim’s son Nikolai, 23, as well as his children Athena, 11, Prince Felix, 20, and Prince Henrik, of 13, of her prince and princess titles.

They are now Earls and Countesses and known as Their Excellencies, and in January of this year the Danish Royal Family updated their website to show the new status.

Earlier this month, Nikolai started his own instagram and has since shared a series of posts showcasing her runway modeling and luxurious ski vacations.

Earlier this month, Nikolai started his own Instagram page and has since shared a series of posts showcasing his runway modeling and luxurious ski vacations.

She lives in Denmark but has traveled the world to walk for designers in Paris and London.

She has also appeared on the cover of Vogue Scandinavia.

Since launching his Instagram account a few weeks ago, Nikolai has earned more than 35,000 followers.

The 23-year-old has shared a total of five images with his followers, including photos from his first runway with Burberry and a ski trip with friends.

In September, the Danish monarch announced that her grandchildren Nikolai, 23, Felix, 20, Henrik, 13 and Athena, 10, will no longer have ‘Her Highness’ titles.

At the time, the monarch insisted that the measure will be “good for them in their future” and will allow the children – who have maintained their positions in the line of succession – to “shape their own lives without being constrained by considerations and special duties ‘ which implies a formal affiliation with the Danish royal family.

Following his grandmother’s move to strip him and his brothers of their titles ‘for their own good’, Nikolai said he was saddened, shocked and confused.

“All my family and I are, of course, very sad. We are, as my parents have also said, shocked by this decision and how quickly it really has gone,” Prince Nikolai, Prince Joachim’s eldest son, told Danish newspaper Extrabladet.

“I am very confused why it has to happen like this,” he told reporters from outside the Copenhagen apartment where he lives with his girlfriend.

Countess Alexandra, mother of Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix, was also “very saddened” and “shocked” by the decision.

“She can’t believe why and why now, because there is no good reason.” Helle von Wildenrath Løvgreen, Countess Alexandra’s press secretary, told CNN.

Regardless, they would lose their titles when they got married one day.

‘His sons are young men, so perhaps they could get married in the near future, why shouldn’t he wait until that day for the titles to disappear on a happy day?’

Prince Joachim told Ekstra Bladet that his children had been “hurt” by the decision, stating that he had only been given a few days to break the news to them before the announcement was made public.

The Copenhagen Business School student and model, who regularly tops lists of the world’s most eligible bachelors, shared a series of snaps of the mountains.

The 23-year-old, who also graced the cover of Vogue Scandinavia, posted several snaps from his vacation.

Last week, Nikolai’s stepmother, Princess Marie, broke her silence after her husband Prince Joachim was reportedly offered a job in the United States.

The 53-year-old prince has worked as a defense attaché at the Danish embassy since 2020 and has reportedly been offered a similar position in the US defense industry.

However, Princess Marie tried to squash rumors of her relocation earlier this week.

In 2019, the royal couple stepped back as working royals after Prince Joachim began his new role in Paris.

However, that work is expected to be finished in June, which means they are likely to increase in the second half of the year.
