People have gone crazy on TikTok over a simple trick that they claim shows if a love interest is your true soulmate.
Many people on the social media platform have been looking for an online ‘Your Moon Phase’ calculator that tells you what the moon looked like when you were born.
By entering a couple’s date of birth, a user can see their moon phase and, according to the trend, if they align to create a full moon, this “would indicate they are soul mates.”
However, if the phases of the moon don’t line up to create the full shape, leaving part of the moon in shadow, users claim the pairing isn’t meant to be.
However, Michelle Roques-O’Neil, founder of life therapytold FEMAIL that the concept of finding your soul mate might not be as straightforward as the trend suggests.
TikTok users have gone wild online over a simple trick they claim shows if a love interest is their true soulmate.
A British woman delighted her followers by sharing a video of her moon phase moving in line with her partner’s to create a full moon online.
She said: ‘In some ways, where our moon is located in astrology is vital, as it is about the person we are and our upbringing as a child.
‘The moon rules our inner world, what makes us feel safe and how we process our emotions.
“There are eight phases of the moon, and each one can impact your life in different ways, and it may surprise that it influences us not only on a full moon or a new moon.
“The phases in between also have a significant impact, especially where our personal moon is positioned at our time of birth.”
She continued: ‘I can see why people might think that finding two matching halves of the moon creates a whole (soulmate), but there are other influences at play, such as the astrological sign both moons are in.
Certain astrological signs, like Scorpio, create emotional intensity.
“Although it’s great to believe that you can find your soul mate, as in all relationships, there are always lights and shadows that you will find, and you have to find a mutually harmonious path. ‘
The viral trend has skyrocketed Tik Tokwith the hashtag #MoonPhases garnering over 108.6 million views on the platform.

Another added a broken heart emoji and wrote: “I’m going to pretend I never looked it up.”
“Okay, no disrespect,” wrote one user, “but how are you going to determine your soulmate for two moons?”
However, others confessed that they felt more positive about the site, writing: ‘I looked this up hoping to hurt my feelings and start an argument with my fiancé, but it fit the bill! He is safe today.
Your Moon Phase was created by mother and daughter Lynne and Brooke Ingalls, who claim that the moon and stars have been a guiding presence throughout their lives.
According to an online description about the site, the two founded the website in 2020 after coming across the Smithsonian Museum.
While some were skeptical of the trend, many others on the platform hinted that they found it “so cute.”
The description continues: “Lynne and Brooke had been laying the groundwork for a business built around the phases of the moon.
‘The museum, on the other hand, was looking for a new line of interactive products that would educate and entertain its visitors. Your Moon Phase was born.
Working closely with a highly-skilled astrologer, a mathematician, and directly with the Smithsonian, the Ingalls ladies developed the characteristics associated with each of the moon’s phases.
“They developed a proprietary algorithm to find the lunar phase on any day in history, which was meticulously calculated to meet the high standards of the world’s largest museum.”
