Costco fans are going bananas — for the new banana nut bread it has added to its famous bakery section.
The 2-pound banana bread topped with walnuts costs just $6.99 and arrived in warehouses across the US this month.
Costco influencer Laura Lamb, who runs the Instagram page Costco hot findsshared a video of the new food item this weekend.
“Costco Bakery's Banana Nut Bread is moist, not overly sweet, and tastes truly homemade,” she wrote in the caption.
The item is completely new – and not to be confused with the original banana pecan bread.

“It's smooth, not overly sweet and tastes homemade,” Lamb said.
On Reddit, a user joked that Costco often introduces sweet products in the new year, just as people set diet resolutions for themselves.
“Right when I made my New Year's resolutions to lose weight,” they said.
At Costco warehouses where the Banana Nut Loaf has been spotted, it was sold for $6.99, but that may vary depending on location.
The product may not be in all warehouses so it's worth checking if it's in stock where you are.
Last year, another Costco retail frenzy saw the company selling 1-ounce bars for $1,950. They were in such high demand that they sold out within minutes as soon as they went online.
And executives soon after delivered promising news that membership costs are unlikely to increase in the near future thanks to strong renewal rates and sign-ups.
Costco has charged between $60 and $120 per year for membership since June 2017: $60 for Business and Gold Star and $120 for Executive.
If history is any indication, the annual basic membership will increase by $5 to $65 whenever it rises next, which is “a matter of when, not if.”
