Costco is embroiled in a wild doomsday conspiracy theory after a customer shared the various “emergency meal” packages currently on sale at the retail giant.

Most recently, the US-based survival expert took to the video sharing platform to show viewers the ’emergency meal’ kits now being offered at the bulk buying chain.

The clip led many people on the Internet to wonder if the store knew something they didn’t and “suggested” that people should prepare for the worst.

She captioned the viral video, which has more than 4.3 million views to date, “Let’s check out the prices at Costco.”

The content creator showed viewers the Ready Wise emergency food kit, which costs $63.99 and provides 132 servings of a variety of pasta meals.

“They also have emergency meal kits from Mountain House, which cost $79.99 (and) contain 28 servings,” she said.

The Mountain House package includes servings of beef stroganoff, scrambled eggs, chicken and dumplings, lasagna and granola.

“One new item that Costco hasn’t had before is the Mountain House freeze-dried ice cream sandwiches,” she said.

The content creator noted that the sweet treats contain six servings for $9.97.

“It’s quite expensive, but I’m going to buy one because if nothing is going on, I’d rather feel comfortable on a day that’s a bummer,” she said.

People online then flooded the comments section wondering why the chain was selling the meal kits.

Someone else wrote: ‘Are they hinting at something?’

However, other viewers claimed that the chain has actually been selling the kits since 2017.
