Teen Mom OG star Cory Wharton took to social media Thursday to give an update on his daughter Maya Grace amid her medical challenges.
The 31-year-old father of three asked for prayers as his 7-month-old son faces complications from open-heart surgery.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, the reality TV star thanked fans for the support, saying: ‘Maya is doing well. She’s not doing very well.

Maya was born with tricuspid atresia, a form of congenital heart disease, last June.
“They are keeping her sedated right now because her left lung has some fluid in it and she is having a hard time breathing on her own,” she told her 1.4 million followers.
The concerned father continued, “So I just need to get all the fluid out of her lungs so that her vital signs start to look normal.”
Wharton was vulnerable with her fans, as she said in the clip, “She’s on a ventilator right now, she’s not breathing on her own, and it’s just, it’s part of the process.” We’re in good hands, but yeah man, just keep us in his prayers. She’s a fighter, she’s going to pull through.’

At the bottom of one video, he wrote: ‘Just wanted to say thank you for all your support. Many people came and prayers were heard.
‘Maya is fine. She will take this thing hour by hour. Thank you all. May she continue to keep us in her prayers.’
In one of the recordings, he pointed the camera at the girl as she lay in a hospital bed with a blanket over her.
‘We love you, we’ve got everyone praying for you baby,’ he assured Maya as she rested.
Cory said with confidence: ‘We will get through this. We just had a meeting with the doctors and nursing team and we will get through this. She will make it. I know she will.

Cory and his girlfriend Taylor Selfridge also share an older daughter, Mila Mae, their two-year-old daughter.
And he also has a five-year-old daughter Ryder with his ex-girlfriend Cheyenne Floyd.
Maya previously underwent surgery to correct her heart condition days after she was born.
The congenital heart defect occurs when the heart’s tricuspid valve is underdeveloped, preventing oxygen-poor blood from being properly pumped to the lungs, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Later, he posted a black screen to his Instagram Stories with a praying hands emoji, and a follow-up flashback clip showed him on a monitor holding his daughter and giving her a kiss.
