Corrie’s Jack James Ryan Admits His Dream Of Returning To Soap Opera For His Character’s ‘Soul Mate’
Coronation Street star Jack James Ryan has shared his dream of returning to the show for his character’s “soul mate” Amy after her surprise departure.
The 26-year-old actor played Jacob Hay on the soap, but Friday night’s episode saw his character forced to flee Weatherfield by his brutal father Damon.
Under the pressure of Damon’s threats, Jacob pretended that he had returned to his drug-dealing ways and ended his relationship with his girlfriend Amy Barlow, before hailing a cab.

But Jack, who already has a new role in a drama that starts filming next month, says he thinks Jacob will return one day to win back his girlfriend Amy. [Elle Mulvaney] like the love of his life.
speaking to Mirrorsaid: ‘One of the writers said that the best time to bring a character back is when they are going to do the most damage.
“I daydream that five years from now, when Amy is settling down and has found the man she really loves and is about to get married, she might burst through doors and say ‘I object’ or whatever they say at weddings.
I think it would be great for him to have a chance to clear his name because I think he deserves it. He wouldn’t get the best reception, but I think Amy would be happy to see him in secret.

Certain that his character, Jacob, would always have a strong connection to Amy, Jack added: “She was her absolute world, she still is.”
I think they are, dare I say, soul mates. They will always have that, but I don’t know if it’s possible to win the street a second time.
During Jacob Hay’s first Weatherfield appearance in 2021, Corrie’s viewers were horrified as she groomed an impressionable Simon Barlow to join a drug gang while tormenting his grieving mother, Leanne Battersby.
In Trouble: Jacob left the show thanks to his father’s influence, after he had to dispose of thousands of pounds worth of drugs when a delivery to the Bistro went wrong, leaving him in big trouble.
Conflict: During their exit scenes, viewers saw Jacob take a horrific beating from Damon and were told he had to leave to keep Amy safe.
And it wasn’t long before she disappeared from the screen after crossing paths with drug lord Harvey Gaskell, who was recently revealed to be her uncle.
But upon returning in 2022, that’s when Jacobs entered into a relationship with Amy Barlow, initially disapprovingly.
But with Amy, played by Elle Mulvaney, by his side, Jacob managed to turn things around.
He got a job at Carla Barlow’s Underworld and even moved in with Amy at No.1 Coronation Street.
However, after the arrival of her father, Damon, her life went off the rails.
Thanks to his father’s influence, he had to dispose of thousands of pounds worth of drugs when a delivery to the Bistro went wrong, leaving him in deep trouble.

The actor said he made the decision to step down after two years on the cobbles as bosses began planning a long-term future for his character.
Jack said: ‘I’m still young and I have so many things I want to do. It felt like the right time to go.
He said that he would miss the cast very much, including Simon Gregson. [Steve] and kate ford [Tracy] who play Amy’s parents and are ‘soap legends for a reason’.
Jack said he had enjoyed taking Jacob through his redemption story, which involved both comedy and romance, but was glad to see the back of Jacob’s fashion choices.
He explained: ‘I will miss her charm, but I won’t miss her wardrobe one bit.
‘When they asked me if I wanted a drink, I said ‘no, you’re fine!’ I don’t want any of that. You won’t see me walking around Manchester in double jean.
