Corrie viewers beg for killer Stephen’s storyline to end as he eyes up next victim

‘Now this is bullshit!’: Coronation Street viewers SLAM storyline as killer Stephen sets his sights on yet another victim after receiving an extortion letter

Coronation Street viewers have been begging for the Stephen Reid storyline to end as the killer sets his sights on yet another victim.

On Monday’s episode, the businessman (Todd Boyce) received a blackmail letter threatening him after he drowned rival Rufus (Steve Meo).

He later found out that it belonged to the two boys he was trying to buy LSD from, who £10,000 or they go to the police.

The killer calls their bluff, but fans were convinced that soon he will repel the teens and add them to his never-ending list of victims.

On Twitter, someone wrote: “Stephen is still the world’s worst serial killer, time to move on. STOP THIS NONSENSE NOW’.

Another said, ‘When the hell is this fucking Stephen storyline going to end’.

And a third wrote: ‘So done with Stephen’ and ‘This EP contains way too much Stephen for my taste’.

While another said ‘I’ve lost count of how many people Stephen has bumped’.

And someone else wrote, “Stephen’s storyline needs to be completed. It’s way too ridiculous.”

It comes after Claire Sweeney said she had “manifested” a role on the show for 15 years.

The actress, 52, gushed that her dream had come true as she prepares to start filming on the popular ITV soap on Friday.

The former Brookside star will take on the character of Cassie, the mother of Weatherfield mechanic Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall), and revealed she will cause big trouble for him.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Thursday, she said: ‘Whenever I’m interviewed they say, ‘If you can do a soap, what would it be’ and I always said Coronation Street.

‘Alan is such a great actor, he was so brilliant when I auditioned for him. Also Dame Maureen Lipman, I’m such a fan of hers.’

Claire, who will make her Corrie movie debut in June, also revealed a little more about her character as she prepares to cause drama for Evelyn and Tyrone.

Tyrone previously believed his mother was dead after telling Evelyn (Dame Maureen) that she had died.

Claire continued, “Tyrone was always made to believe that Jackie was his mother and she wasn’t his mother.

And then he was told his mother is dead, so that’s the twist. I crank up the Cobbles and I’m a little unruly.

“I’ve got some problems, some big problems, but what’s going to happen?”
