Corrie stars confirm the future of Ryan and Alya’s relationship after DJ made shock love confession

Coronation Street stars Ryan Prescott and Sair Khan have confirmed the future of Ryan Connor and Alya Nazir’s relationship after the DJ made a shocking love confession on Monday’s episode.

With Alya beside him in the aftermath of his horrific acid attack last month, Ryan began exploring the idea of ​​rekindling their romance as he contemplates an entirely different future for himself.

However, the character was left crushed as after admitting that he loves her, Alya admitted that while she will always be there for him, she no longer has any romantic feelings for him.

In the aftermath of the heartbreaking scenes, the actors playing the do/don’t couple opened up about the intricate emotions and feelings the characters have for each other.

Watching Ryan struggle physically and emotionally in the weeks following the horrific attack, actress Sair, 35, said of her character: “It was incredibly hard for Alya to see Ryan this way and the shock of the event really hit her .

“She saw him earlier in the day, before the acid attack, and everything was fine and then his life changed so quickly. Many of the residents of Coronation Street have experienced life-changing events, but Ryan’s is so physical and so painful and Alya has never seen or experienced anything like it before.

“She tries to be sensitive, but she’s in shock to see someone she cares about in so much pain. It’s been very difficult for her and it was quite difficult for her to hide her reaction.’

While actor Ryan, 34, said Alya was there for his character: ‘It’s meant so much to Ryan. Ryan has an overwhelming fear that he will never be loved again or that he will never be intimate with anyone again, so he reached out and tried to understand everything around him, one of which was the relationship with Alya.

“He’s in this whirlwind of emotions and the loneliness he feels is one of the things that pushed him to take another chance with Alya.”

He added about the DJ’s feelings: ‘Ryan really loves Alya and he has always loved Alya. I don’t think that’s changed and before the acid attack happened they had a little one night stand situation and even then Ryan said to Alya “Would you consider getting back together?”

“Alya didn’t like the idea and so he took that hit earlier and he already knows where he stands with Alya.

“But after the acid attack, he’s doing damage control and feeling like no one will ever love him again, he’s desperate for the first place where he feels love and that place is Alya.

“He tries to hold on to that as best he can and ends up pushing it even further away and reaffirming that it’s not going to happen that way.”

But while Ryan took the plunge and confessed his true feelings for his ex-girlfriend, he was heartbroken when she admitted she didn’t feel the same way, after which the actor said the rejection reinforced Ryan’s fear of never being loved again.

He shared, “Ryan was gutted. It’s the icing on the cake and when Alya shoots him, even if it’s in a really cute way, it’s the reaffirmation of “No one will love me. No one will accept me.”

“Having someone to love is a huge driving force in Ryan’s life and he is now starting to think he will never have that again. He is so vulnerable and so alone in this condition.’

However, his co-star thinks Ryan’s confession stems from his fear of being alone, and Sair adds, “Before the acid attack, Alya saw a gleam of happiness in Ryan’s eyes when he talked about going to Ibiza and follow his dreams. .

She saw that he wasn’t tied to the street and that there were adventures for him outside of their messy relationship and she was genuinely happy for him.

“Now, after the acid attack, Ryan is completely vulnerable, his mom isn’t here and he doesn’t have that much family. Alya feels like she is one of the closest people to the family that Ryan has on the street and he needs that support so much that Alya thinks Ryan has confused that love and affection with romantic love. Alya realizes it’s not about her, it’s about his emotions and what he’s going through.’

On whether this final blow will affect his recovery, Ryan said, “There’s a combination of things that will affect Ryan’s mindset and recovery, like not being able to hold on to Alya, reaching out to Crystal, and being dependent on Daisy.

“These are all the women in his life and it’s because his mother wasn’t there. This is a big factor for Ryan and one of the things I’ve played with as an actor. Ryan needs feminine energy in his life, especially as he goes through this emotional trauma. He needs his mother, which is why he clings to these female figures in his life, such as Daisy, Crystal, and Alya, to try and feel some sense of comfort.

“His mother has always been the one who grounded him, even when he found out she wasn’t his mother by blood relationship. After that he still hasn’t left the streets and still hasn’t tried to find his real family.’

He continued, “Ryan likes to stay with the people he feels grounded with, and with his mother gone you can see the panic in him as he tries to keep his other relationships safe and bring these people closer.

“If this has the opposite effect and things start to go downhill and people move further away from him, it pushes him into that overwhelming feeling of, ‘Nobody’s ever going to love me again.'”

With Ryan and Alya having reached an impasse in their romance, Sair further confirmed if this is really the end of the couple’s road.

She said, “For now it’s the end for Ryan and Alya because once Ryan tells Alya he loves her, Alya has to set a boundary to protect herself from getting hurt again and hurting him by giving him mixed signals.” .
