Coronation Street’s Saira Choudhry is married! Actress ties the knot to Marc Jackson with lavish wedding in Crete – 25 years after their first date

Soap star Saira Choudhry has married her long-term partner Marc Jackson, 25 years after the two went on their first date.

The 42-year-old actress, who is best known for her roles in Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, took to Instagram on Friday to share a series of behind-the-scenes photos and videos from their lavish Crete wedding.

The couple tied the knot on the Greek island, surrounded by close family and friends.

Saira, who played Anita Roy in Hollyoaks and later appeared as journalist Naila Badal in Coronation Street, looked stunning on her big day in a strapless white dress with a long train.

The form-fitting ensemble featured a sweetheart neckline, buttons down the back and a wrist loop.

She wore her raven black locks in a low ponytail.

Saira opted not to wear a veil and instead wore a demure white bow tie, while her husband Marc wore a cream suit.

The bridesmaids, including Saira’s daughter Leah, wore light green dresses, each with different straps and necklines.

The wedding venue had a beautiful coastline as a backdrop, with white chairs for the guests and a floral arch for the ceremony.

For the evening reception, tables were set with an array of fairy lights, where guests enjoyed a meal and entertainment including an ice cream van, bouncy castle and saxophonist.

Saira shared videos and photos from her musical day on social media, including one of her new husband officiating the Artful Dodgers Re-Rewind ceremony.

In another playful clip, she can be seen dancing with her bridesmaids – presumably before the wedding – to Jagged Edge’s Let’s Get Married, while fanning herself with a fan emblazoned with the words “The Bride.”

As she and her new husband walked into the wedding reception, Bruno Mars’ Finesse was playing.
