Coronation Street’s Saira Choudhry announces she is engaged to partner after romantic proposal at Edinburgh Castle 23 years after first meeting
Former Coronation Street star Saira Choudry has announced that she is engaged to partner Marcus Jackson, 23 years after they first met.
The 40-year-old actress, who played Naila Badil on the soap opera between 2013 and 2019, revealed that Marcus popped the question to her during a trip to Edinburgh Castle with friends.
Taking to Instagram, Saira shared the moment Marcus got down on one knee before uploading a snapshot showing off her stunning diamond ring outside the historic monument.

Saira wrote: ‘I said yes. Ms Jackson so I love you @jaxson_2013 I met you 23 years ago. Who knew our journey would lead us here.

The actress was on her way to Edinburgh Castle with friends when Marcus seized the moment to get down on one knee.

Saira first rose to fame in 2008, when she joined the cast of Hollyoaks as Anita Roy.
She then went on to join Coronation Street and after her stint on the cobbles, she played Saira Malik on BBC’s Life.
This year, Saira appeared as Alice in an episode of the BBC comedy Peacock and as Nancy in the CBBC series Dodger.
