Coronation Street’s Katherine Kelly reveals she bonded with her The Crow Girl co-star Eve Myles over being mothers and ‘workaholics’
Katherine Kelly has opened up about how she bonded with her co-star Eve Myles while filming upcoming series The Crow Girl together.
The actress, 45, stars in the Paramount+ thriller as psychotherapist Dr. Sophia Craven, while Eve plays Detective Jeanette Kilburn.
Adapted from Erik Axl Sund’s novel of the same name, The Crow Girl follows Jeanette as she investigates the murders of a slew of young men in Bristol, found beaten and injected with lidocaine.
She is soon forced to work with Sophia, her prime suspect’s therapist, to help track down the dangerous serial killer.
Discussing the series, Katherine explained that she and Eve bonded because they both had to juggle motherhood with being “workaholics.”
She shares daughters Orla, 10, and Rose, eight, with her ex-husband Ryan Clark, while Eve is mother to three daughters with her husband Bradley Freegard.

Speak with The mirrorKatherine said: “We are at a similar stage in our lives. We love our work, but we also love motherhood and we don’t want to miss that. We admit that we are both workaholics – and I mean that in the most positive way. We do what we love for a living.”
The Coronation Street star revealed she had to move from her home in Barnsley to film the series in Bristol, but insisted this made it easier to balance her work and home life.
She said: ‘I’ve found that since Covid I’ve had to work away from home a lot, so as soon as I leave the house I really immerse myself in the work.
‘I am an all or nothing person and I find it difficult not to continue because I don’t go to my parents’ house in the evening. It’s like an exam: there’s never a point where you feel like you’re done. From the moment I walk through the door, I am completely free to be home.”
Katherine and her ex-husband Ryan, a digital analyst, made the ‘difficult’ decision to go their separate ways in April 2020.
The former couple was married for seven years after tying the knot in Las Vegas in 2013.
A spokesperson said at the time: ‘Katherine and Ryan have made the difficult decision to part ways. They see it as a positive step for both of them and the divorce is completely amicable.
“Their children are their top priority and they will continue to co-parent as good friends.”
