Coronation Street star Julia Golding has given birth to her second child.
The actress, 37, who plays Shona Platt in the soap, took to Instagram to share that she and husband Ben Silver had welcomed a daughter named Emmeline as they prepared to bring the newborn home from hospital.
Julia, who announced her pregnancy at the British Soap Awards in June, gushed that she and Ben were “absolutely thrilled” to have a baby girl and said their son Franklin was “in love” with the newborn.

Julia shares a glowing photo with Ben as they left the hospital after their daughter was born on Saturday.
She captioned the post, “Saturday our little girl arrived. We are over the moon and Franklin is madly in love with his little sister, Emmeline Beanie Silver. She is perfect.’

In June, Julia shared the news that she was expecting her second child when she revealed her bump on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards.
She and her husband Ben welcomed their first child earlier in 2019, named Franklin Wolf Silver.

She made the joyous announcement on her Instagram account, sharing a snapshot of herself and husband Ben Silver posing in a park shortly after she went into labour.
Captioning the image, which showed the couple wrapped in woolen coats, she wrote: “Thank you to the lovely couple in the park who snapped this photo for us: taken when I went into labor early on my due date.
“The next day Ben and I welcomed our baby boy into the world. Franklin Wolf Silver born 11/30/19.”
She concluded the heartwarming post: “He has changed our lives for the better in every way. I feel like I’ve known him all my life.’

The actress took a four-month break from filming before returning to the set in March 2020, before production was interrupted due to the Covid pandemic.
Julia and her teacher husband got engaged after three years of dating, but kept the news private for 10 months.
They married on stage at Manchester’s Albert Hall in February 2019, surrounded by friends and family.
Ignoring pre-wedding tradition, the couple walked hand in hand down the aisle together in what they revealed was their own choice.
