Coronation Street’s Cait Fitton has revealed her childhood aspirations of being in the soap which left her school teachers much amused.
The actress, 19, who joined the program in November as troubled teenager Lauren Bolton, said she’s dreamed of starring on the show since she was five years old.
Reflecting on her childhood in a new iterview on Sunday, she admitted she thought “it might never happen,” but she kept working toward her goals.
said Cait The sun: ‘When the teacher asked us: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I said, “I want to be on Coronation Street.” I remember all the teachers were amused, they couldn’t believe it.
‘I wanted it so much. Sometimes I would despair and think it would never happen, but it just shows that if you fight and work hard for your dreams, you can achieve.”

She continued, “It takes a lot of courage and drive to strive to be different and it takes even more courage to achieve something and I’m super glad I stuck with it.”
On the cobbles, Max Turner got a shock when his ex-girlfriend Lauren returned to Weatherfield last month.
The teenager (played by Paddy Bever) has been trying to rebuild his life after being released from a secure training facility following his involvement in the stabbing of Alya Nazir by extremist Blake.
Max had been groomed and manipulated into joining an extremist gang led by leader Griff Reynolds (Michael Condron), while Lauren’s father was also a member of the far-right group.
During the disturbing storyline, Max was involved with Lauren (Cait), but when the gang fell apart, Lauren fled to Cornwall to be with her mother, where she believed she would be safer.
Max had an unexpected blast from the past when Lauren suddenly re-entered his life claiming to have had a fight with her mother.
Lauren, who previously held the same racist views as Max, insisted she wanted nothing to do with her father or his right-wing associates, while also claiming she had a rough night’s sleep at the bus station.
Feeling sorry for Lauren, he took her to the café where she made it clear that she wanted to get back on track.

But it remains to be seen if she has an ulterior motive.
Actor Paddy, 20, told Metro.co.uk about his character’s love life, saying: ‘I’d love to see him find love with someone who has good intentions towards him, with someone who won’t cause him any danger. it.
“I’d like him to find love with someone who can weather the storms with him instead of creating them.”
Meanwhile, Max gets into more trouble with his current girlfriend Bec, after her ex is released from prison.
